Without the PE upgrade kit. UW/CW Menasor is pretty bad and wonky. Legacy will definitely replace it. I think UW/CW Superion and Computron are still good figures at the present time. Defensor/Bruticus aren’t too bad either. But who knows Legacy might surprise us with more.

Love your reviews man b/c you keep all the generations stuff like the rest of us for comparison :p. Not gonna lie..ever since Earthrise I've been busy selling duplicate characters. The Combiner Wars Menasor is probably out of here for most people b/c a lot of people probably won't have the upgrade. And I noticed they basically bumped up their standard combiner size...b/c it matches the height of the upgraded old combiner. I expect them to do more combiner teams sooner rather than later (computron).

oh thank you so much buddy! i appreciate it... i think once we have all of the stunticons, and i end up loving the new legacy menasor over CW... i might just get rid of the old stunticons... funny you mentioned me keeping stuff... i actually sell a lot of stuff and old figures, because hasbro keeps turning old figures obsolete with newer versions, so once the new figures drop, and i no longer have the older figures for reference, i actually end up re-purchasing the older figures, often times at ridiculous prices (like bulkhead and knockout), just to give you guys proper reference when i do the review... not many people realize that this is quite an expensive hobby, and i end up usually spending more for the review than what i get back in return (monetary terms)

Damn it! Can't keep drooling looking at Legacy Motor Master reviews! I love CW Menasor, it's my first Menasor, but the issue I have with CW Menasor is it's so flimsy and easily detachable. Obviously I don't have the PE upgrade, but I do have PE upgrade on my CW Optimus so I know the PE upgrade won't make the CW Menasor/Motor Master playable. I hope Legacy Motor Master has solid joint, solid pegs and good proportions overall. 👍

this is a real improvement over combiner wars, the individual bots are a lot better, look better, pose better etc, but with the perfect effect kits the combiner wars looks amazing. sticking with my unite warriors with kits on this one, but legacy doesn't need 2 expensive kits to be amazing, has way better individual members and is taller than regular combiner wars with their crap feet

Great review! I agree, not all parts being used for combined form is weird. The gun is also very underwhelming. Good thing i got a custom gun years ago for my United Menasor. Overall i do like the Motormaster figure, but i think the knees look messy and the cab is too big compared to Prime and to it's own trailer. It really throws off the scale/proportions in vehicle mode.

Invested so much in upgrade kit for UW/CW. I was happy legacy menasor as a figure alone is epic this way in shape and form of G1..so relief..and goes well with the current size of CW. But still i think 3rd party kit will still come up with something for the trailer..mybe Thanks for the indept review! Edit: Just got mine today & pretty happy!1 minor gripe is the trailer wheels cannot support the weight..abit dissapointed but i'm sure there will 3 party kits to stabilise it.

HI. Great review, got my MM last night. Quick question, do you find the shoulder joints on yours quite weak once you've attached dragstrip? mine for example cannot really hold his arm straight out in front of him, it's liable to fall down once the car is attached. Not sure if the left arm is going to suffer like this as well, bit disappointing. Also, am I being dumb here, is there a way for him to hold his cannnon or does he just have to use either the turret or one of the handles on either side of the cannnon? there's no centre peg is there that I'm missing? Ed.

This Legacy Menasor (combine mode Motormaster) looks better on hand and the pictures and videos didn’t do justice. I just found myself saying “wow” after transforming Motormaster in his combine mode. The individual figure looks great. I even liked its base/battlestation mode. I highly agree with the 10/10 rating for this figure. I just got excited to complete this Legacy Menasor.

Have almost zero complaints. The only flaw I can say I dislike is the panels behind the combined mode feet. It just takes away from the look even if you got the cars above it. All they needed to do was make the double hinge for the car a little longer and the front half of the car could have been the support heal instead of the panel

WORD OF CAUTION: i got my motormaster last week, and, during the third or fourth time i transformed him into menasor, one of the gray tabs on the chestpiece (that was part of he trailer) that flip up to lock motormaster into place (the ones on either side of the head; you can see them in the above picture) snapped off. this was during normal use. the black pieces that the gray pieces are attached to the chestpiece with sheared off. as someone who refurbishes and fixes toys, i found this break to be unrepairable - attempting to glue it back together would cause the gray piece to be unable to move at all. the amount of plastic on the sheared-off black piece is so tiny, and the clearance between it and the gray place is basically non-existent. fortunately, hasbro is going to replace the broken part. unfortunately, they can't just send the chestpiece and i need to mail back the entire toy. every other time i've broken a figure (except the shoulder joint on king of the snipers - that one is just very poorly designed [the joint, not the whole figure]) has been my fault. this is the first time i feel like it was an endemic problem with the toy's design. and, as i said at the start, this was only the third or fourth time that i manipulated the pieces in question, i was using it as designed, and i did not in any way force it. overall, i love the figure. this has nothing to do with that. i just want people to be aware that this is a very real thing that could happen to anyone and that it is (unless you are unbelievably skilled and/or are a jedi) nearly impossible to fix without impacting functionality.

Great figure, it should be, after all CW Motormaster was voyager class figure at the 1/4 of the price of this. With all the ingenious engineering I'm a bit surprised that the turret part has no use in combined mode - it seems it could have been scrapped (base mode is kind of "fifth wheel" anyways) in favor of better accessories which don't seem to scale well in any mode (robot/gestalt). I wonder why Hasbro didn't use Jetfire's hands for combined mode, one block closed fist is so outdated, even CW hfgs were better. Personally I don't like proportions on the trailer - it's too tall and too short. Extra grills on the legs seem like oversight (since they went extra mile and faked all that mass shifting, I see a lot of inspiration pulled from 3p designs :D), design team could have come up with some sort of panel which would cover these up Beware the yellowing. Apparently some parts (Motormaster's shoulder hinges) turn yellow really fast...

This Motormaster looks great. Using the trailer to become the frame in combined mode is a game changer. My hope was that the vehicles on the legs in combine mode would be on the front of the legs instead of the back so as to give it a full frontal combined appearance. @@taney9138 I mean that the same way minicons powerlinked to other transformers to increase in the host a certain or multiple aspects, Motormaster serves himself of 4 other decepticons that attach to his frame to increase his strength, power, etc. Unlike combiners, for which each member of the team ACTUALLY forms a complete part of the body of the Gestald, "Menasor"s body is comprised of Motormaster's frame with the other team mates only attaching to it, from my point of view Shockwave cheated while making combiner "Menasor" , using powerlink teck instead, he was probably in a rush that day hahaha.

I dig it, but I’m super bummed that it doesn’t scale with CW Devastator. I have CW Devy, PotP Predaking and Siege Omega Supreme and they all scale well together. Then you have this guy… it looks like he needs to take some growth hormone or something. If I’m choosing not to be cynical, I assume this was done so the car bots could scale with the current TF mainline car bots. If I WERE being cynical, perhaps this was done because a smaller combiner means less plastic, which means less expense, which means more $$$ in Hasbro’s wallet. Either way… semi-bummer?

Nah, be cynical. 😁 You raise valid reasons to be. This is disappointing. It's like they can't get away from Combiners being a certain size. I know Predaking was on the bigger side as a toy when compared to the others. And Devastator has often been oversized in the cartoon, but I'm sure most collectors would rather see a more consistent scale for Combiners. Oh, well. Maybe someday they'll get it right.

hahahaha so true! yes, i suppose... both points do make sense... sometimes it's difficult to design figures that would scale with smaller figures and at the same time scale with bigger figures in combined mode... hasbro usually just settles for a compromise

Not worth the price... For the whole set close or about $200.00 only if the other figures aren't the same price. Imagine if upgrade kit is needed. I was satisfied with Kingdom rodimus for the retail price..👎

@@chefatron i wish that were true but lets face it, this is a business, they did it for $$$ and try and justify the rest, its why deluxe figs are the size of old scout class, yes more complex but the density, the amount of hollowed out gap space etc increases, go measure and weigh a fig like leaderclass ironhide, it is almost 3 times the weight, has electronics, spring loaded gimmicks etc, vs any leader class today (many of which are voyager sized now like shockwave was but given.....basically boots, to make it appear bigger" i love the ss dinobots but compare vs leaderclass movie starscream, deluxes have gone from 12 to 18 to 24 to 28 to 34$ here in canada and have shrunk. i know this isn't a transformers only issue due to inflation but i sincerely cannot recall other toys doubling in price over 10 years while also shrinking. i collect nerf guns as well and while there has been an increase the %age is not close. i know there are tons of other factors, ie design, marketting etc etc and they toys arent bad persay but it is extreme

Won't get this figure. His scale is too small. He's a shorty compared to Devastator and Omega Supreme. There's nothing menacing abut him because of it. Not to mention, this figure likes to yellow from H.S.P.S. (Hasbro SH*tty Plastic Syndrome)
