The side swipe lambo was the first transformer I got as a kid in the 80's still have it but in bad condition unfortunately

There's a new toy variant in Mp-44s that is releasing early 2024, so you might have another chance then to get the mold.

@@folaolakunbi4961 Which one did you go with for your first? If you were after an Optimus Prime, I would have recommended MP-44 Optimus, not MP-10! MP-10 was great for its time, but with the direction Takara are going with their G1 figures, MP-44 would be the way to go. It complements the MP-36 Megatron perfectly.

I should have just said soundwave instead of trying to be clever. dont worry, I'd definitely go mp44 over mp10. although I still think mp10 has a decent look to it.Speaking of megatron I tend to much prefer the alt modes of the figures, but megatrons robot mode is the only way i'd display him

@@folaolakunbi4961 Ah that's good! MP Soundwave is still a decent figure. I'm actually surprised Takara havent done a quick repaint of it in more cartoon style like the carbots. As for Megatron, I definitely think bot mode is the way to display it! I always display my main cast of characters in bot mode, and the repaints in alt mode. Usually the best of both worlds!

I love Art Fire, just simply outstanding. The cassettes names are (orange bat) Wing Thing. The stripped Ravege, Stalker. The Rumble, Frenzy guy is Enemy( we can all groom together) and the black Steel Jaw one is called, NightStalker.

I also almost like you, only collects Transformers Masterpiece G1 & + version only. But I dun collects Diaclone lines.

The diaclones are a great homage to the original toy colours by Takara before they became known as transformers. Sometimes it feels like Takara puts in a little more effort into these repaints.

@@monkeyguy80 no, I never watched BW growing up so have no nostalgia for it. That's why I only collect G1 related characters in the MP series.

I just did a masterpece collection and agree with you on Inferno, Grapple and Artfire. All very good figures. Be careful with Grapple as I broke one of his hands off. So mad at myself. Great video!

Actually that is Ultra Magnus original Diaclone colors before Hasbro repainted him for the Transformers line

Shockwave was lighter more often than he was dark in the toon and indeed the animation model is lighter. When he was depicted as darker it wasn't really the same colour as MP-29+. Takara saw an opportunity to make more money from the mould by giving those who thought the original release was too light (based on their memories of the toy) and took it, which is fair enough, but even in the Marvel stories he was lighter more often than he was dark.

Yeah, I was happy enough with the original version. But the tamped on insignias and darker colour really sold me on the + version. He looks more menacing in the darker colour.

Awesome collection. With MP40, it's based on the US season 4 ("The Rebirth", parts 1-3) animation appearance, complete with incorrect color scheme thanks to Korean studio AKOM. Still an awesome figure. Oh, as for Firebolt, it's supposedly retooled from Hasbro's "Offshoot". Not really sure how exactly, as Hot Rod can't hold either gun very well (the tabs are too fat for the slots in his hands). Ratbat repaint is Wingthing. Ravage repaint is Stripes (you were SO CLOSE!!) - we actually had a mainstream release of a Stripes in Titans Return (Ravage retool)!! Rumble/Frenzy repaint is Enemy (you nailed it). Yup, you're right about the Inferno mold (MP33 = Inferno, MP35 = Grapple, MP37 = Artfire). Plastic wheels? That was still a complaint? That's been a thing since at least the MP25 Tracks mold... The comedian/former late night talk show host you were trying to figure out is Jay Leno. As for MP29+ Shockwave vs. original MP29...I think that they made their choice with the lilac - have you seen the Transformers Legends releases of Combiner Wars Shockwave & Titans Return Galvatron? Both of them use that same lilac purple...not sure where Takara saw that in the animation.

Thanks for your great thoughts! I actually watched a few season 1 episodes the other day showing the kids. Shockwave's colour did change quite a but, with at least a few scenes where he was lilac and bordering on light grey! Lots of hilarious animation errors for sure in that show 😂

I’m on the verge right now of buying another mp45 and I’m going to customize it to make a Cliffjumper that I can complete my collection and be proud of it. I hate all other Cliffjumpers. Especially after mp45 came out. Subbed

Great video! I enjoy these. Artfire was released in G1 in Japan during the Headmasters and Targetmasters line. And he originally came with Nightstick. The same Targetmaster I believe Cyclonus came with. In the comics he was paired with A repaint of Jazz called Ricochet which saw its first American release in the USA commemorative series back in early 2000. Which is why a Masterpiece Jazz Mould could fill a lot of gaps in collectors collections. MakeToys did a third party release. But, I know you only collect official releases.

MP Bee is great, the one thing that I’m not a fan of is the quality, he feels like a 2014 KO You can rework the feet to hide the rear windows more in the feet Going to wait for a better quality KO hound

Interesting, I saw an alternative way to transform the feet that has the window slightly higher up so it doesnt seem to long. But I cant see any other way to rework the feet more into the feet though.
