@@sub-zero5433 in fact Adding onto this, Lockdown was at one point strongly pushed to closely adhere to his original incarnation in terms of design and even having Lance Henriksen reprise his role (when contacted about potentially joining production, Henriksen was also reportedly eager to return as the character) but for unknown reason they didn’t go through it

@@hattanalshutaifi4587 that’s the case for a lot of the movie voice actors. they went with shitty knockoffs instead of frank welker as megatron, lance henrickson as lockdown, peter cullen as ironhide, there are more examples. it’s probably due to studio interference that the proper actors didn’t get hired

Could’ve added in Soundwave, Ironhide and Sentienel Prime though. Animated Optimus voice definitely wouldn’t work here. Animated’s young and still learning how to lead. Movie Optimus is just a menacing old warrior.

Animated voice would work for Optimus in Bumblebee. David Kaye could work well with the version we are getting in Rise of the Beasts. Unfortunately I did not have the clips for the characters you suggested. Maybe in the next one.

I feel like the Bumblebee voice works great with the film version of Bumblebee. However I feel like the Lockdown animated voice doesn't fit with the live action body. The film version of Lockdown sounds threatening and he's possibly the most scary live action Transformer villain so far but Scourge might dethrone him.For some reason at the Optimus Prime segments starting at 0:28 and ending at 0:36 for me it sounds like something that is said out of context when it's put side by side mainly the 2nd part.

Animated Lockdown sounded so quiet compared to the other characters, his voice was like this mix of deep and quiet. Kinda like Death fron Puss in Boots, it gave me chills when he talked for the first time

As much as I love David Kaye's Animated Prime, I don't think he quite works for Movie Optimus, but it's not so much the voice as the characterisation. I have little doubt he could give an appropriately tailored performance that would fit far better.

David Kaye's Animated Optimus voice seems to work well for the AoE Prime, but with the first 3 movies, I prefer the Gary Chalk voice or the G1 Optimus voice (aka younger Peter Cullen in 1984)

He's a guy with a giant gun that clicks into his face who says one-liners and performs gratuitous violence. I like that very much, but he's nowhere near as well-written as Animated Lockdown. I gave concrete reasons why the character could've been better and you just dismissed it because "He just is." Maybe your inability to consider other people's perspectives is the reason you can't understand why the film is considered bad.
