@jaydonmagan46943 ай бұрын
I hope so too. But I think the box office numbers are going to need to get better soon to convince Hasbro on that front. Given how much Mutant Mayhem was able to make before having a sequel greenlit for it, it probably shouldn’t take too much for the same to be done with a sequel for Transformers One; at least for the Paramount side of things. But I think it’s gonna take a larger box office return to convince Hasbro and Paramount about the viability of future animated Transformers films outside of TF:One’s planned trilogy. Though next time they should really release a better first trailer in order to convince more people.

Also, this movie is so so pretty - they really brought Cybertron to life here, especially Iacon with the sci fi roads and its alien architecture. In the credits there was a small army of people in charge of just the lighting for this film, and I think they did a fantastic job. The way everything shines or reflects is just… beauitful 😌

Which is perfectly fine, nothing wrong with not noticing some issues, I'm sure some shot past me too, even though I was more cognizant of them in general. @15oClock3 ай бұрын
At this time in the industry, you can’t count on having a sequel. Shows are getting cancelled because the streaming services they were on were invested with expectations to replicate or exceed the numbers from the pandemic, and not everyone’s convinced to return to the movie theater. Things are incredibly uncertain, and it’s best to just make one film with the expectation that this is your one shot, even if you have to cram another movie into it in the process.

despite this being one of my favorite movies of all time right now thats probably just recency bias but i understand all of the things you meant, i feel like how the 86 movie couldve used another 40 minutes this couldve as well, the one scene near the end of the movie which if youve seen it youd know the one im talking about was absolutely shocking, in the cinema i was genuinely stunned and the sequence after that had a real can you hear the music vibe to it. during the whole movie i really had a revenge of the sith feeling to it except as i havent watched the clone wars this felt waaaaaaay more coherent and set out the motivations far better. i was genuinely expecting to hear thors voice the entire time i was watching the movie but i only felt that way once and at the end it felt like Peter Cullen himself had taken over because it was just perfect. the action hit so hard and all the characters were cool thought i feel like one of them was a lot less logical that before and felt like a different character, i wish that they had just fleshed out it a lot more with another hour or 40 minutes as some characters didnt feel like they perfectly completed their arcs but im sure that will be rectified in a sequel. overall i like this way more than bumblebee and hope its gets a sequel. P.S screw you Hasbro, the only place i can get mainlines apart from specialty stores in Australia is bloody Myer meaning that the mainlines cost more than the studio series ones.

@3:26 Liquid metal? I just always assumed, unless otherwise indicated, that Transformers faces were made out of rubber or plastic or rubberized plastic or something like that. Does it really need to be liquid metal? Or is it that actual canon and I've just never known? O_O
@banobobot3 ай бұрын
The Aligned continuity proposed the concept of “living metal” in which through utilization of their T-cog are able to squash and stretch certain parts of their metal, such as their faces and their parts during transformation that allow them to change size. Don’t ask me how any of that works, but the point is: the simple answer as to what their faces are made out of is “living metal.”

Great review. Doesn't give spoilers away, and critiques the film fairly. Also I love Sentinel in this film.

i will say, that I wasn't expecting the fall out between prime and d-16 to be so understandable. Was expecting it to be a lot more rushed than what we got. same goes with the fight scenes we NEED more of those
@PerspectiveEnd2 ай бұрын
See I think it was very rushed and that's my main issue with it.

Man I can’t wait to see this movie but something im just gonna vent about for a bit is ign gave this movie a 5 which just makes me mad what did they even see it? Also had to say sorry for your bowser hopefully you can stay in good spirits

Yeah I actually watched that today, I thought the screen shot just froze on the wrong point of the video or something. I don't know how they can make that argument. Must be Disgruntled Bay Fans, or Hopeless Geewunners.

I can agree about alita being that way is pretty off. Honestly they shouldve played the responsible boss who's hard on her subordinates out of care rather than be a total hard ass. Now i wish they played that scene with orion and d-16 being in trouble and alita takes the fall for them.

RIP Bowser 😢 I'm really looking forward to seeing this movie. It hasn't come out in France yet, but I'll need to see an English audio version instead of a French dub. That would be dissapointing :/ Now that we have your thoughts on the new movie, maybe you can also review the new skybound comic. I'd love to see your thoughts on it. I think it's one of the best instalments in years. I'd also love to see your response to seeing the Combaticons getting totally disrespectfed 😂😩
@PerspectiveEnd3 ай бұрын
Thank you. I do think you'd be missing out on Brian Tyree Henry's Megatron for sure if you didn't watch it in English. Also after years of knowing you, I only learned just now that you are French. I've been planning on reviewing that for so long, I need to hurry up and get to it. But not next week, for you know what next week is.

@@PerspectiveEnd He's that good? I gotta see this. Oh, I'm not French, I'm Irish. I'm studying in France. The movie isn't out yet over here. I think it comes out the 11th of October in the UK. But I don't like the idea of going all the way to another country just to watch a movie in the original language. Can't wait for your thoughts on it. I felt that the second ark escualted and concluded really quickly. But on my second read of it, I liked it far more because I realised that all the characters felt like people with their own drives and motivations. Like seeing Optimus and Elita have a genuine conversation over the ethics of using Shockwave's energon made me forgive the other shortcomings
@PerspectiveEnd2 ай бұрын
Ahh, that makes sense. And I do think his performance is excellent. And yes the Second arc is WAY too fast. Or wait are you talking about the comics? You need to warn a guy that you are transitioning topics my friend.

The film was fantastic it just had a plot that was running way too fast since they wanted to fit it into the run time. I can definitely agree that the shift in character was far to fast and definitely threw me off first time watching it along with that the confusing plot holes like the fact only one city is mentioned across the whole movie or the weird timeline not making it clear how long ago the Primes existed, either way the film was definitely the best we've had in the franchise and definitely an enjoyable 8/10 👍

They're use of cycles for a term of time measurement is probably based on Beast Wars doing it. I remember there used to be a chart that showed what the different terms for time were back in the 00's when nerds treated all sci-fi and fantasy with the same nerdiness of Star Wars before Disney bought it.

I think the point about cycles is a microcosms of the whole movie in that There are things in the movie that are changed for no reason other than saying this is different and you cant compare it to the rest of the franchise then turn around and have things happen that makes no sense in a vacuum Maybe i need to watch the movie again because I feel like im being gaslit by the whole Internet in to thinking the it's good when all i see is flaws?
