Everyone says the Michael Bay Transformers movies are terrible, and while the writing certainly isn't great, there's a great video on KZbin called "Learning To Love Michael Bay's Transformers" that breaks how there's actually a really deep story in the movies Even if Michael Bay didn't even intend to write it that way lmao

I think you'd really like the transformers movies. There's action, there's comedy, there's drama. And when you learn the inspiration behind Optimus Prime's voice, the character has so much more depth to him.

I'm way older than people typically think I am and I was a Transformers fan since the 80's when I was a kid. I've enjoyed most of the different comics and cartoons but I hated the Michael Bay movies (people would call me a Geewunner for it even though I very much loved the majority of post generation one) but I kinda dig this trailer. It looks fun, a lot of fun little details and lore in it. I love the way Cybertron looks.

Transformers are amazing. I love the live action movies. I know critics say those movies suck, but I've always loved them. Only real Transformers fans like them. Same thing with the MonsterVerse. The directors said that those movies were made for the fans of Godzilla and other kaijus - NOT for the critics.

I’m a newcomer to the Transformers franchise as well! A buddy of mine is trying to get me into them, but come on. Let’s face it, robots that turn into vehicles is so universally cool no matter what that it’s hard NOT to be invested. So far I’ve watched a little bit of the original 80s cartoon, and the first Michael Bay movie. The show is very much in the old vein of shows like G.I. Joe or He-Man. Very kid-oriented and made to sell toys, but that’s part of its charm. The Michael Bay movies are apparently hit or miss on the other hand. Loads and loads of badass action and mindless explosions to go around, but some of the characters and humor are kinda low-brow and the storyline can be nonsensical and hard to follow, with various revamps and retcons made to the history and lore. They’re pure dumb fun, which frankly I think makes them something you’d probably enjoy! Although one thing is almost always a constant with any Transformers property. Peter Cullen is THE voice Optimus Prime. Seriously, the fact that Chris Hemsworth is playing the character in this new movie might be one of the few things that kinda worries me about it (although given its an origin story, I think it makes sense to cast a younger actor). But seriously, just check out anything Transformers, and odds are Peter Cullen will be there voicing the leader of the Autobots. Man does he have a commanding voice!

Peter Cullen is said to be in the movie. Chris Hemsworth will be voicing Orion Pax, but it’s said that when Orion Pax becomes Optimus Prime, Peter Cullen takes over. This was done because Cullen never once voiced Orion Pax before. Even in G1 when they showed Orion Pax for the first time, they had a different VA for him while keeping Cullen as Optimus.

Transformers have some pretty dark elements/mediums too, tho. Like the IDW comics were pretty dark, just like Transformers Prime, not to mention the official aligned continuity books. Even the 80's had some not so kid friendly/orinted episodes, like the movie, where they brutally killed off like half of the characters. ;P

I think you'd like movies! Although, it's important to remember that there's much more lore and differences, because I saw so many people saying that Transformers One doesn't look canon because "It wasn't like this in the movies" lol

I guess one of my only gripes with this is that it’s supposed to be an Optimus and Megatron origin story, yet Bumblebee is there. Sorry, it’s just I’m so used to the idea of Bee as part of the younger generation of autobots who are learning from the much wiser generation like Optimus.

You should absolutely check out the transformers movies. Start with 87 and just straight on till rise of the beasts.

This is a new universe unrelated to the Michael bay films. The first one is decent, the 3rd is also good but the rest are pretty bad. I’d recommend starting with the reboot, starting with the movie Bumblebee, then the indirect sequel rise of the beasts.

I feel like should give some explanation since goes deep into transformers lore: First the most well know. • Elita One is Optimus's girlfriend introduce in season 2 with the concept of gender transformers race since aperently some really dumb people think that we need a explanation when they are femele robots and not why they have beards leading to the goat Ron Friedman fight for they inclusion since daugther dar a fan and unfortanally some them never lost that atitude leaving some worst points transformers comic history *cought*arcee's idw origins*cought* • B1-27 is Bumblebee and this shows this shows that it's seperate from previous movies sice takes the name bee after lading after lading on earth •D-16 is Megatron a worker(slave) who fought against a corrupt govermant who lost his way and became a tyranical genocidal dictator with dreams of universal domination •Orion Pax is Optimus. In the prequel movie comics and prime/war for cybertron novels shows him as good friends with Megatron but not agring how they should manage cybertron falling out.

I'm interested in this a bit hyped but not too hyped. Feel like this will be a Mutant Mayhem situation trailer voices and animation aren't too well recieved like there's positive reactions but most of it more so is mixed then ince the film comes out it's mostly positive and anything that was recieved mixed with the trailer is kinda still mixed but more so a small mixed issue to where it's still mixed but not as bothering of a mixed reception compared to the trailer reception.
