I honestly didn't like the RID Deluxe Knockout simply because they just COULDN'T get the shoulder pauldrons to look good. Knockout's design was SO distinctive, and his vanity was SO central to his character that if you couldn't translate that closely to plastic, I feel like the character would be pained by the failed attempt.

Which is why the R.E.D figure is the absolute best version if you only care about the robot mode

​@@heavy5013 And yet the transformation gimmick is why we get many TF toys that sacrifice one mode over the other. If accuracy is what one is looking at, non transforming figures offer that better than actual transforming ones.

the OG Prime Knock-Out was one of the figures that made me go to town on him with gundam markers and Citadel paint like all the Yellow parts he needed. I think the Japanese repaint of the Beast Hunter retool: Bloody Knock Out is the best version of that mold. Tempted by the new Legacy figure.

Great review Jcc2224!!! At 2:18 Knock-Out knocked himself out. lol :D I think the original Prime figure has a better robot mode, but the Legacy figure has a better alt mode. Keep on being amazing.

If you've not already, the reprolabels for Legacy Knockout just really elevates him. It gives him the two toned red, it makes his decals standout a bit more. I'm not a huge mark for their stuff; but Knockout is a set that really makes the figure shine. I feel like I want to track down a RED Knockout, even though I'm not big on that line; just to have a good representation of his robot mode. Since neither of these does his look complete justice. Knockout was so vain, that to me not having a good accurate to screen representation of him is one of the biggest sins of the franchise. He's a character that certainly need more love. Him and Airachnia. Really surprised we've not gotten any news of her getting a Legacy toy; becuase damn if ANYONE in Prime needs a new toy, it's her. And yes I know of the 3p one.

Old one is better. The legacy one just disrespects the prime design by slapping a prime head on a G1 body.

I hope APC improves the original RID Knockout, just make the wheels fold inside the legs, make his windows black/dark Smokey transparent plastic, give him an accurate paint job, paint his rear lights and other details overall to be animation accurate, and he’s good.

If a third party company figures out how to strike the balance for Knockout, get the collar and the wheels on the back, the nice slim waist and the legs just anywhere near right, that'll be my definitive Knockout. For now, I adore my Legacy Prime one. Not perfect but does the job

I only have the original prime knockout and I also love the character. However I lost his accessory, and I'm missing one of his shoulder pads, also his paint on the chest is scratched.

I've been wanting a Knockout figure for a while, and the old RiD one just doesn't do it for me so looking forward to getting the new one, looks nice and I have been liking the "G1ification" of the characters.

Got vehicon no long ago, watched your vid to decide which Knockout would be better since it's the only con which both RiD and Legacy versions can easily be found in my country (Argentina papu) and I think I'll go with the RiD one It's a bless to be able to get a Prime collection so easily over here but also a curse because we barely get modern line figs

While I would have enjoyed updated show accurate Prime toys, I have really enjoyed the G1ified versions as well and I think the hate they get is a little overblown. Having grown up on Armada though, I am glad the Legacy figures lean more towards anime accuracy. If anything else, perhaps now some non-G1 fans can at least understand why some G1 fans have not been satisfied with Hasbro's G1 offerings until Earthrise came out despite being the main focus of CHUG. Some people didn't want a Deluxe Beyblade Optimus or a Double Barreled Shotgun Optimus or a pickup truck Optimus or a Combining Optimus or a decapitated Optimus or a Digivolving Optimus, they wanted an updated 1984 Optimus and I think that was a fair desire for Hasbro to finally capitalize on.

Honestly I'm glad they deserved all the backlash they got, bulkhead is borning, arcee is a mess, and knockout would heavily be disappointed in this, it doesn't even fit the character knockout is sleek, stunning, cocky this is none of that, and it's not like they didn't have options if they really wanted cartoon accurate versions, they had mp and 3rd party

@@rav_productions2136 Well, it is all pretty subjective for sure. I'm not saying people have to like the g1ified figures, I just found it funny that what people are saying now echo what some people were saying about Classics and Alternators all those years ago. On the subject of MP and 3P, both are definitely options but can be both cost prohibitive, usually (but not always) have a much smaller range in character selection, as well as out of scale with most other Transformers figures. No matter the case though, I don't think it is mature to dance on the grave of something people enjoy just because you don't.

@@Doiboy35true, like you said this is subjective, but I honestly I feel these characters deserved better, because think about it when is the next time we're going to get a prime style bulkhead or a knockout or arcee?, Another example I have is animated since they confirmed they are doing it, I hope they don't screw it up since animated is one of the most influential transformers shows, yet It's like Hasbro's least favorite tf kid, legit prime and it's 10th anniversary celebrated by then releasing breakdown and a jet vehicon, and meg's, but they couldn't be bothered to release anything for animateds anniversary or hell even do a special commemorative set for the passing of Derek j Wyatt, and that dude was a true transformers fan!, Even doing fanart till he died when animated was over, and Knowing Hasbro after they do animated in the line they are never gonna return to it again, Imagine being excited that your favorite animated character is getting a new figure and the last thing Hasbro ever did was transformers animated related and was a "G1 reimagining" taking the design and nullifying it remove its uniqueness and what made it distinct because Hasbro has a G1 bias, please forgive me if I'm pissed if one of my favorite transformer shows it's going to be revisited for one of the last time I actually want them to respect the designs keep their G1 boners away from it, at least do it in a way where it doesn't ruin the unique designs unlike what Hasbro did with the prime characters

@@rav_productions2136 Hey, I was disappointed too that the new toys weren't show accurate, I was dissapointed with the original Bumblebee movie ss toys for being inaccurate. But all I was saying was that being inaccurate didn't make the toys objectively bad or insulting. And just because these current releases are inaccurate doesn't mean more accurate toys won't come out in the future. I understand your feelings, don't get me wrong, I just don't like dealing with opinions as absolutes. I believe the Prime anniversary release was pretty suspicious as it was made up of figures not officially released in America which Animated did not really have. I would also believe that as tactless as they can be Hasbro wouldn't want to even appear to be attempting to profit off the sudden death of a prolific artist so no go on a commemorative set. Yes, Hasbro likes to focus on the 80's stuff, but it's not like those designs were bad. And now that we have had Earthrise and Kingdom releasing definitive depictions of the majority of the 80's cast (what many g1 fans wanted all along) perhaps now Hasbro has worked out their 80's funk and will move on to other things. With the recent releases and announcements of g2, Japan exclusive, Cybertron, and Armada characters it may be a fortuitous sign of what the future of Legacy and hopefully the Animated releases may hold in the future.

@@Doiboy35 your right, I have the bulkhead it's still a good toy regardless, but it still annoys me that they didn't really do anything to honor Derek j Wyatt or didn't get anything for it's anniversary, and animated did have figured only released in Japan, they had blackout and winged Optimus probably some more as well, and all of the G1 designs are good cough(except menasor) cough, and hopefully your right we'll be able to move on from the 80's in a bit I'm just worried since this is gonna be the first time in a while we're getting new figures based on the animated cast, I just don't want them to fuck it up, a part of me is sad since I know these are gonna be our only new animated toys in a while since unlike G1 or alot of other tf shows, animated is something 3rd party doesn't want to touch so we're never gonna get a attempt at some acrruate figures

I like the legacy mold but its not knock out, its not even that reminiscent of him. Knockout looked flashy with curves and sharp edges because he was so vain, it gave him character. This new mold is just like every other carformer ever. The new "prime" stuff in general isn't bad but its in bad faith to actually call them prime figures.
