Originally Hasbro wanted Waspinator to die in this episode. However, due to his popularity, the creators of the show begged to keep him around. So in order to keep him around, Terrorsaur and Scorpinok had to be sacrificed. Since we saw them glow for a few seconds, I’m guessing they originally had planned to bring them back later on. Most likely as a transmetal fuzor. Shame that there was never even a toy of that idea. I think the best name they will go by is Terrornok.

2:22 Fun fact Terasor and Scorpinix weren't originally gonna die,but Waspinator and Scorpinix were and the reason why Waspinator was spared was because people at Botcon at the time loved him so Terasor had to be killed off instead. And as to why Some if the others weren't given upgrades was because they didn't have enough to give everyone a new design, so they gave some of the Maximals and Predicons that were here from the beginning an upgrade. The only reason Rhinox, Dinobot,and Waspinator didn't get an upgrade in universe was because they weren't in the rase field to affect them. Although it is interesting that the Ones that came from Stastic pods and were in the rase area didn't get affected.

Someone had an interesting theory as to why some got a transmetal look in the wave and some didn’t. The original maximal and predicon teams were not from this planet. Rhinox, Dinobot, and Waspinator were shielded when they were in their healing chambers. Which is why they didn’t get new looks. Everyone else was essentially born on Earth. So they were immune by the wave

Silverbolt gets introduced next episode, he and Blacharachnia are my favorite couple. They're interesting in that despite him being a chivalrous white/silver knight he will only be protective over her when the situation calls for it (cause he knows she can take care of herself since she was in the preds and you got to be able take of yourself considering how that group was) like in Cutting Edge even though he stated that if his lady was in danger then his place is at her side and he was at her side fighting beside her and he only interfered and was hovering protectively over her when she was taken out of the fight. I mean they were both moving the rocks from the volcano entrance in Agenda part 2 not just him.

And just like that, we won't see Terrorsaur or Scorponok on this show anymore. But hey, we get Quickstrike! Funnily enough, Waspinator wasn't saved by plot convenience, it was actually the fans. The writers HATED Waspinator and that's why he kept dying. HE was actually going to die instead, but the fans loved him too much. We saved our precious wasp punching bag. My guess as to why Inferno didn't upgrade was that it only affected those who had been online the longest/exposed to the planet's energon the most. Because Tigatron and Airazor are completely unaffected by the surge. Also, actually kinda surprised the bots don't upgrade in your cast, but at the same time I know some of those toys are a pain to get.
