@@centurynerdbr My theory is there must have been either the remains of a dead dragon, or possibly a dormant one, in the lava with him and he scanned it while upgrading. This is set after G1, and a time travel episode in G1 confirmed that dragons did exist in the past.

Optimal Optimus: “What dragon fires ice?!“ Several fantasy stories. Also Cryotek, a cybertronian crime boss whose look is based off of transmetal 2 Megatron but blue. He was also BW Megatron’s mentor, who gave him the idea to steal the golden disc. I guess Megatron had great respect for his mentor and wanted to be like him. Makes the most sense.

Enter the dragon Edit: Had to grab my TM2 Megs to watch this with me. I'm that much of a nerd lol Edit 2: Actually the reason they waited so late to have Megatron upgrade is because it took them a while to design his new form. The show started writing while they were still planning. That's why there were so many filler episodes in season 3 and why they had to keep sidelining Optimus since none of the Predacons were strong enough to fight him directly.

7:11 I'm gonna try to at least explain the Transmetal 2 part. Megatron already had a Transmetal body BEFORE falling into the lava, while Terrosaur and Scorpinok were still in their base forms as they fell into the lava pit inside their base, the Darksyde, which is why they were instantly destroyed. As for how and why Megatron became a dragon... I have no idea.
