They actually did use the original night rider kitt voice. The hasbro team confirmed it. In fact it's the same exact audio tracks that was used in the original toy. I don't know if it's your mic or not, but it doesn't sound right. It sounds crackly and distorted. I hope you didn't get a defective voicebox on yours. Oh and before I forget. It does have a hidden audio track. You have to hold the button for 2sec or hit it twice to activate it. I really don't remember which, but you get the theme song if you do.
