Downtown San Antonio has great potential should the city planners think forward instead of backwards as it has done since 1985. The skyline for example is pathetic for a city of 2.5 million people. The skyline hasn't changed since 1985 and new buildings are boxy, have no height and blend badly into the background. A modern skyline like Houston would fit to the city nicely. Expand the riverwalk in all directions and build numerous condos where people can actually live in the downtown area - this will not only bring in revenue but expand the tourist base as well. Develop the area around the Alamodome and expand it's usage space for international events with places that are twinned to San Antonio. City planners are stuck in the past and one just needs to again, look at the skyline to see the stagnation.
