It's about time to start recognizing that people with disabilities experience health care disparities and healthcare inequities as severely as any other community, if not worse. please note that this video lacks captioning (relaying on Google's auto generated captioning doesn't count nor is it Section 508-conformant) as well as audio descriptions. these omissions are ableist and, by now, beyond mere "microaggressions".

Those numbers are quite high, wonder what is the contributing factor or factors behind it. 🤔🧐 Upbringing, self-evaluation, always succeeding and then not succeeding as usual? Might explain alcohol and drug abuse, especially those under the legal drinking age for alcoholism.

it's due to able-bodied persons excusing people who are Deaf or disabled from health care research and treatment, dismissing them and putting barriers in their way. the NIH is notorious for excluding People who are Deaf or Disabled from research, as a target audience and as researchers. • Deaf and Disabled people do not “overcome their disability or handicap”, they overcome the barriers knowingly put in place and maintained by able-bodied persons.
