Is it possible to sell and make some money off the old parts/older PC?
@fujitsupikkukone58165 жыл бұрын
Was just going to say the same. Annoying. REVAMP should have all the same main parts and just ENHANCE the rig: add RAM, add a FAN or two, replace CPU COOLER, add SSD, CLEAN UP, CABLE managment and that's it. Then it could be issue that present rig is not BALANCED well, usually CPU is better than GPU so just pump up graphics performance a notch (not straight to RX 5700 or RTX 2080)

@Elite Were talking about 3rd gen Intel not a Core 2 Quad here. Third gen Intal has all of the features you need for modern gaming, plus the platform wasn't even maxed out. His friend was still rocking an i5 (not even the fastest for that socket) none OC model and a GTX 650. This is why I say people that talk about doing builds with an upgrade path are a joke. Nobody upgrades, once their computer gets too slow they usually replace the whole thing like he just did his friend. He just made his friend spend $350 to $500 dollars to do an upgrade that he could have done for about $200 on eBay. First off the case was still good if not better than the case he went with. The Commander case has better airflow and more drive bay support than the case he went with and not to mention the fact that if his friend has older games he still needs the DVD drive for he is SOL now. The old case was just durty and the PSU was facing the wrong way and not cable managed. He should have taken the old PC apart, cleaned it up, put the PSU fan down and routed the cables through the ports on the case the way they should have been to begin with, sold the i5 and got an i7 3770K, replaced the stock cooler with a Hyper 212 or Gammaxx 400, and added the RX 580. The motherboard already had USB 3.0 support and if he wanted M.2 he could have used a PCI adapter card to add that too. This video was basically a good way to have your friend waste $350 to $500 dollars on parts instead of just giving him the upgrade he wanted. Don't get me wrong if his friend does video editing this would have been cool, but if he's just a gamer you had him waste a lot of money.

Not enough RGB 5/10 IGN. But really, a solid build, very clean. I'm actually doing the exact opposite project, where I took my old 2013 PC and now decking it out with the cheapest RGB and other bells and whistles from AliExpress while not upgrading the original components. The only "expensive" thing in there will be my 3 leftover Corsair SP120 fans from my main rig. I also got the shittiest "gaming" case with a see-through side panel just to challenge myself. I'll share a pic once I'm done, if you're interested.

I wanted to add more RGB. But, I was on a deadline and my friend didn't have it in his budget to get RGB ram or an AIO with RGB. Definitely will add it in the future though! Your project sounds like fun. Would love to see the final result when you finish the project!

@@WiltshireTutorials I actually used a very similar RGB ram kit you showed on the channel a while back for my project and there are cheap cool RGB fans on AliExpress you could use for your friend's build too :) But you probably want it to be all high quality stuff, so getting something better while sacrificing RGB totally makes sense.

Is negative air flow better than positive air flow
@WiltshireTutorials5 жыл бұрын
That topic is debatable. The reason why that it's debatable is due to the potential hardware you're using. For example, your PC chasis/case. Some cases will benefit from negative airflow vs positive airflow. A case that benefits from negative pressure would be the NZXT H500. Also, if you're using a blower style GPU, it would benefit from a more positive airflow setup. Blower cards suck in the air that's in the case and exhaust it out the back of the case. Hope that explanation made sense and helps you!

Thanks! In my opinion, physical media is dying, if not dead, when it comes to PCs. Consoles are a different story. Better for the environment these days to not produce unwanted discs. Also, with Windows 10, it will install a default driver good enough to go to the manufacturer's website to get the latest driver(s).
