You probably torqued the valve cover bolts on too tight, both 22re (85+) and the rounded 22r valve cover are the same height

That valve cover will only fit 85 and later model Motors it won't fit yours without changing over the studs that hold the valve cover down to the correct length ones from what I remember
@vmoney91062 жыл бұрын
Nope, that will fit. I have the earlier rounded 22r cover and the 85+ and they are the same height

@@vmoney9106 the one i tried leaked determined it was the studs holding the gasket from being crushed down

Do you only blast your parts before coat or do you also wet clean with a cleaner? And what type of blast media do you use?
@austinniemela2 жыл бұрын
Blast with 100 grit aluminum oxide and blow them off and they are ready to coat as long a you don’t contaminate them

Not real familiar with powder coating but it looks like you heat the parts before you apply the powder coat and then heat them again after to cure? What's the purpose of that? I thought you just heated once after the coat to cure?
@austinniemela2 жыл бұрын
Heating before bakes out any oil or impurities in the material!

I bet most people that assemble engines at home do not have your measuring tools and do not notice the lack to attention to detail from the machine shop(s).
@SODITGarage2 жыл бұрын
Amazing attention to detail as normal!..... I am however slightly disappointed there's no added induction with this engine. With everything else you've done, I feel you need at least 250 untamed ponies rampaging their way at the rear wheels🤷♂️😎👍
