It's not as vanilla friendly, but I would also recommend Conquest of Skyrim if you want something new. It let's you make you own faction in the civil war, build your own army and claim land for yourself the same way you would with Lawbringer

CoS was so damn good but a pain in larger mod lists, had so many CTD because of it but it was exactly how I wanted to control the civil war. Hope the mod will be out of WIP one day

Conquest is really buggy and often creates a lot of problems, you should *not* be recommending it

That mod is amazing. It’s a little buggy and doesn’t play nice with city overhauls but man is it fun. I started a deadric cult that worshipped Azura and used the mythic dawn armor set by 4thunknown. We were called The Crimson Gate and we conquered Skyrim in style. I even got to execute Maven Blackbrier and Thoner Silverblood. It was a blast. Plus, there’s a new update coming out soon that will add a lot of new features and many bug fixes.

One mod that I would highly recommend is Immersive Aggressive Opponents - Armor-Based Opposite Faction Aggression, which makes it so that if the player is wearing legionary armour they will be attacked by Stormcloak soldiers on sight and vice versa

The question here is..how many of these civil war mods are actually stable enough to include in a playthrough? Civil war mods don't have a good reputation when it comes to game stability

I run a lot of these civil war mods one of which adds like 100 stormcloaks against imperials in one area. So far only one crash with over 300 mods.

Theres another mod where the the civil war progresses through anyway if you dont pick a side. I believe its Open Civil War's settings set to do so and have Organic Factions, Fort Takeover Framework and the entire Lawbringer framework of mods all communicating together to get it to work

Open Civil War is not compatible with one of the Major overhaul mods I showcased here so I did not include it here :(.. For the other mods you mentioned, I already had the clips for those mods and was suppose to be part of this showcase, but I decided to save it for another special video I have soon! :D

Nice mods, will be adding to my mod list. Immersive patrols is the only mod I currently have that's civil war related, adds patrols to the world and if storm cloak patrol come across a legion patrol then a fight ensues.

Kind of a niche thing but going along with the actor-limit fix mod -- does anyone know if theres a mod out there that makes big crowds of a faction less... roboty? 2:25, every single soldier reacts at the exact same time and pulls out their weapons in unision. It would be cool if there was something out there that could stagger reaction times for NPC's of the same faction to prevent something like that.

Yes, these are replacers so it's not close to vanilla. However, I'll be having these installed in 2.1 BTW, armors are Sons of Skyrim and New Legion!

I hope in future someone restore cut content from civil war, siege of markarth or riften. Capture Solitude with Tvlivs, or Windhelm with Ulfric, such potential to make civil even greater

As someone who played the mod, Open Civil War and Civil War Overhaul already restored sieges for all 9 holds, With latter also restoring unused radiant quests that allows you partake in various missions such as sabotaging resources, recruiting soldiers, take over towns and mines, etc, Even more with the possibility of losing the war. However there’s no unused remnants for losing Solitude or Windhelm, Since that’s the Legion and Stormcloak’s main starting base.

The Conquest of Skyrim mod was the best thing in terms of Civil War but being still a WIP mod and having so many CTD due to conflicts with other mods made me uninstall it again. I hope one day this mod is fully finished and can be played without much trouble.

I get big battle limitations do to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Even PC at the time. But the world details in hindsight it was just weird and lazy

Nolvus is a complete overhaul of Skyrim. It will most likely be incompatible or bugs here and there when adding mods that overhauls stuff even more
