@@workbenchhobbies4316 Oh yes, I'm fan of Hetzer and so far I had Prague from Takom, Chwat from Academy and ROA from Tamiya. Now I only need Flame-tank, ARV, Command, short 75, 150 and G-13/ST-1 to have full "family". So far Takom kit seems to be best in price-quality ratio while Dragon it's just mix of old and new parts. @@workbenchhobbies4316 Hetzer chassiss isn't most difficult, didn't have bazilion of wheels. Also, I like to build certain subjects like now it's vechicles of resistance movements ( Yugoslav Tito's Partisans with mad max style M3A3 Stuarts, Polish Home Army captured Panthers of 251, French FFI, plus some lesser known curiosities like Belgian Marder I or Indonesian Marmon-Herringtons ) Most subjects are made in 1/35 so no problem with anything and it's pretty wide. Love it! I have only attempted one full-interior model (Trumpeter Flakpanzer IV Ostwind in 1:35 scale), which I have yet to complete, and I haven't ventured into painting the interior yet. I have left the sub-assemblies uninstalled so that they can be painted separately. The engine assembly was very meticulous, with some parts being about the size of a sesame seed, but I am proud to say I did not lose any pieces of it! Love your videos!

Great work!!! This video was just the thing I needed!!! I just recently purchased this kit, without the interior, and this one video answered nearly all of my questions about the interior!!! The model I have came with the full ammo racks and 75mm rounds plus the automatic rifle and other bits and bobs, but no where in the instructions does it show how to assemble and mount them to the floor and walls of the tank. With the other interior pieces included, I was disappointed that the radio set was not included in the kit I have, oh well I’ll just build one from scratch following some frozen stills from the video. I’ll also scratch build the seats for the driver, loader, and gunner. I’m enjoying the build series for this kit, and cannot wait to begin the build of this kit!!! As someone else has already said,” this is my styrene sanctuary!!” G, day!!

Hey William. Thanks for taking the time to say Gday 😁 Don’t take my interior as gospel…there were a few things in there that probably shouldn’t be…but if all you were wanting to do was to add some volume to the interior when peeking through hatches then it should be good enough. Hope you are enjoying the channel 🙏🍺👍

@@workbenchhobbies4316 That was the idea I had based on your work. I’m not trying to recreate the interior, but rather the seats and the radio stack to fill the voids. The 75mm ammunition in my kit will be painted in thirds, red, yellow, and green; I presume for anti personnel rounds, some amor piercing, and incendiary?? Great job on your build!! The interior build for the Hetzer looks great Clayton! I think any sort of interior modelling is way past my skill level at the moment I am afraid, even though I have been tempted a few times. Takom is my favourite kit manufacturer, and they produce some amazing armour models, many with beautifully made interior components, and I have often thought about giving them a go. However, I always think that putting all that work into a detailed interior, and then covering it up so it can’t be seen, is maybe a waste of time and effort. Maybe the experience itself would be worthwhile? Anyhow, I wait eagerly to see the Hetzer come together, and look forward to the next episodes. Cheers from a fellow Aussie😊!

I have noticed in a unboxing video from someone they also received a clear part for the interior front plate. In all my boxes there wasn't one. My dealer (MBK) is contacting TAKOM about it. Bit of an odd part anyway as that part would have been behind the front armor plate. I am going to build at least one of mine as a befehlspanzer, just need to take a good look at the armored pod for the antenna. Thank you for this video, gives me a good inspiration for mine.

I’ve seen the kits with the complete top side as a clear moulding. I’m not sure, but I suspect they may have been a dedicated release for the Asian market? Looking on eBay (Australian) I see heaps of them for sale (direct from China)…so I know they are out there. Not sure why they’d not just sell the same kit to everyone 🤷🏻
@thomasroell5255 Жыл бұрын
There is a limited edition selling in Asia. So if you'd order the kit there, you'd get that. I did order a Mid and a Late one .... What you get is essentially the whole upper structure minus the engine compartment covers in transparent. The problem (well, my problem) is now how to present that.

After looking at whatever Hetzer references can be found (not enough), I believe that Takom modelled this interior from a photo book without visiting a real vehicle. And I believe that photo book depicted one specific restored Command Hetzer. Which, unfortunately, is not a perfect restoration.
@Pleijp73 Жыл бұрын
I have that feeling also, I wonder what MiniArt or Border would make of it. In any case it's a nice basis to work from if your going for full authenticity. Got to do some research though.
@workbenchhobbies4316 Жыл бұрын
Think you could be onto something there!
@thomasroell5255 Жыл бұрын
The interior is sadly a G-13, mostly. The engine compartment is a mid/late variant, reasonably. But on the other hand, who will ever know if the model is done well. Full authenticity ... So both BMM and SKODA changed things along production. Sometimes older parts ended up on a later vehicle. In the field broken parts got replaced by whatever was available. Hence there is only reasonable authenticity, not absolute. Perhaps Rye Field or MiniArt will pick up the subject ...
@daveybyrden3936 Жыл бұрын
@@thomasroell5255 Thank you for contributing. What parts, specifically, seem to be G13 specific? I know that the radio and transformers in the firewall are correct. The second radio is an inappropriate collection of mismatched items, but they seem to be WW2 German despite that. And the items on the left side wall? The red cylinder is the tuner for the Fu 8, nothing wrong with that. But the rest? I see the fuse box for the Fu 5 but I suspect it's out of place. And the intercom box seems OK.

@workbenchhobbies431611 ай бұрын
Hey Stuart. I’d usually mention it if I had in the video..but truth is I can’t remember…but I don’t think so. I paint with lacquers so varnishes aren’t really required if all I’m doing is adding a pin wash. I’d usually only varnish if I was sealing an enamel effect or preparing for decals.
