I love how some people criticize an act of kindness while being comfortable in their homes watching youtube videos without moving a finger towards helping other human beings in need and extreme poverty, and not having a clue of what is like to not have a roof on top to protect and shelter yourself. If you watch this and don’t like it, start doing something yourself with your own money and resources.

I live in this particular city. Rent is $2,000 for a one bedroom apartment. As they build these homes it’s some Yuppie crying about those houses being too close to them. They are making something big enough to sleep in. They get tons of money but don’t really use it. I worked in the building dept at the City for years and saw it first hand.

It is too small. Make him and those other people live in that for 30 days. If they don't stop with it or keep saying they just don't understand, 90 days, etc.

it is worse than that. by laws do not permit these tiny houses, on account of fire hazards, not built to height, so if they get their hands on them, they straight up destroy them.

@@aristhelynranalan1702 oh i totally agree. these tiny shelters are much better than nothing. But I also agree with the city by laws as well. Imagine sleeping in one of these shelters during the daytime for instance, and they will become just like insides of a car, hot boxes of death. So the by laws are for a reason too eh. I do know, that the tiny houses made in communities are for sure changing the lives of chronically homeless. By building to current codes, and by providing safe spaces for chronically homeless to live forever in. Not temporary housing. But for as long as that person chooses to live in that community itself. That is the solution. Check out the Austin Community First Program they have put together.

Living in the Bay sickens me. The wealth disparity between the super rich and the poor (homeless) is appalling. The city (cities - SF, Oakland, Berkeley, Richmond) don't do anything to improve the lives of the homeless. People - wealthy, middle/upper-middle class people just walk past them as if they're invisible. Sometimes I find homeless sleeping in the bushes next to my apartment. It's horrible. In Berkeley, some residents are trying to pass a law that would kick out the homeless because 'they make the city look bad'. It disgusting.

What they're really afraid of is free housing. If housing was a right guaranteed to people -as it should be - or something people could just build themselves or get for free, the landlords and banks wouldn't be able to profit from it.

There are some wonderful people in this world. It is also time authorities treated homelessness as a social problem rather than the victims like criminals. I own my own home but recently took in a lady who had been homeless for years through no fault of her own. I in turn receive extra income from a room that has sat dormant for months.

if the government doesn't want people to have benefits like section 8 housing and the tax payers don't want homeless people wandering their streets, why don't they designate an area of land on the outskirts of the cities for the homeless to set up camp...old rail road storage containers could be donated to transform into liveable homes...wooden storage sheds can be used as tiny inexpensive homes if the homeless can buy them for themselves or make monthly installments to the government if they will purchase them to distribute to the homeless...
