Great video. Question: Why did you install 2x4's on the rood joists? Could you have drywalled directly to the josts?

Well, there were a lot of things sticking out like electrical, plumbing, etc. So, by installing those 2x4s, it made the ceiling flat so we can install the drywall. Without those 2x4s, the ceiling would have electrical and plumbing sticking out, and we wouldn't be able to install the drywall

That box you built around the vertical pvc pipes is called a chase wall. Good 👍

Great work and very clean! Did you guys do any duct work? I didn’t see any ducts being added for basement space

Yes, we did do duct work which was necessary in order to bring AC and heat into the basement

How did you attach the framing to the steel beam?

We actually didn't attach it to the beam. We built a soffit around the beam, which the soffit was attached to the rest of the framing.

Well, it's a walkout basement, so a part of it is underground
