CW: Talking frankly about periods and menstrual products. I’m a cis woman, but wanted to share in case it helps anyone. I used to use pads but now I use a menstrual cup when I’m on my period. Even as a cis woman, there was a bit of a gross factor at first because it requires you to get well-acquainted with your body to know how to insert/de-insert the cup and you actually SEE the blood before it goes down the drain. I imagine that’s too much for some people’s dysphoria (or if you’re just squeamish) but if you’re open to trying it, you might be surprised. I can only speak for myself, but I can’t even feel the cup as long as it’s inserted correctly. I literally forget I’m on my period. Feeling that... gush... when you’re wearing a pad and you stand up suddenly is the absolute WORST and I have never had that while using a cup. You don’t need to empty it as often as you need to replace pads or tampons, so that’s a major plus, too. It also creates less garbage. Emptying it is not ideal if you’re out and about, though, unless you have access to a single person washroom. It’s also an up-front investment of $20-$40 (by now, a few years later, mine has more than paid for itself). There are definitely pros and cons to consider, but I figured I’d share my experience. A menstrual cup has made my period a significantly less awful experience.

I was going to say something similar. I'm a Trans Nonbinary person. and periods make me dysphoric. Mensural cups have really helped me. I feel more free to go about my business. I don't have to carry extra products with me. If you don't have a bag or big pockets, carrying around those hyenine products is troublesome. I don't have to order or go buy them. I don't have them sitting in my cabinet or closet taking up room and being visible. I know not everyone can use a cup, but if you can, give it a go.

Hi Fox, great to see another really good and needed piece of work here. As an older N/B trans person it is always uplifting to see and hear the good works you do and to know that you, Owl and others are still advocating/campaigning for us all. Thank you.

About social media: Don't forget there are plenty of wholesome and/or inclusive places online with people who are LGBT+ and NEED that positive interaction. There's good KZbinrs, forums, even reddit threads.

I don't think that you should go into a relationship stealth if you are pre-anything, or pre-op (especially lower surgery). Say you are pre-op lower surgery (trans male) and your partner is a cis woman or man, and you are together for 4 or 5 months and start to discuss intimate things; that could lead to unsafe actions. I disagree with you completely on that one. Someone may seem safe but they may not be. Telling a potential partner who then says "no actually I'm not interested'' prevents heart ache and upset later down the line. If you are a post op everything, many years stealth; then that is a different story.

I think 4 or 5 months is a bit long. Coming out to a prospective partner is inevitable - however it's not necessarily something to do on the first or second date. I made a video on trans dating.

Attraction to non-binary people, or gender-neutrality, or androgyny called ninsexuality, if someone needs a specific term. Finsexuality is an attraction to femininity, and minsexuality - to masculinity. I'm finsexual myself, and I found this label comfortable in comparison to bi/omni/poly/pansexuality, which are too broad for me.
