Jack Dempsey same! I'm a straight cis female and I've learned sooo much from ty and other LGBT youtubers. I started watching videos to become more educated when my cousin came out as gay. I always had accepted him for who he is and I never cared he was gay, but I wanted to educate myself and learn how to be a good support and ally for him. I've learned sooo much & it's opened my eyes a lot. Someone I know said the word tranny when referring to a MTF person the other day and without thinking twice I went off on them cos I was disgusted they used that term. So if there's any gay or trans or LGBT members reading this, know you have my full support & I'll do my part to educate the people in my life :)

There are more trans people among neurodivergent people. Which is genetic. While neither Ty or Tristan are ND for what I know, it suggests a genetic component, yes. Maybe that you are more anti-authoritarian, and therefore less likely to suppress your true gender in order to fit in .

me and my older sibling are both trans (I'm ftm and she's mtf) and id like to know if you at all felt awkward or weird about being closely related to someone who's also trans? I sometimes question whether I'm actually trans because my parents don't want to accept me as trans because I didn't show "typical" signs unlike my older sibling did and it's making me scared to attempt to begin my medical transition.

Thanks for this! I always felt weird about me and my cousin being trans. The coincidence was too unreal. I came out to her, but she came out to our family first so I was always worried about how they would react to another trans family member. This video is giving me a bit more hope, but I think I am just going to transition on my own and then see how they react afterwards. Good luck with future content!

this was actually really cool to see because im a trans guy and i have a cousin who came out as mtf like years ago (now identifies as genderqueer) so it was kinda the opposite of you guys! they came out first and kinda made it easier within my family for me to come out especially because like you said for some reason trans guys are often more accepted. sadly they live across the country from me so i havent got to see them since i came out but anyways this video just kinda made me happy because it reminded me of my experience!

I think a large part of the hostility towards trans women is, as you two mentioned, the fact that men and traditional masculinity seem to be held to a higher standard and generally very well-received in society, and people seem to interpret trans women as 'rejecting masculinity' when they transition, or even just when they openly and actively acknowledge their identity.

erinisyoung ppl are just harder on men anyway. the idea that men aren't supposed to cry, supposed to be tough, etc. so if the mtf trans is seen by ppl as still male then it's easier for ppl to give her a hard time. also it's harder for mtf in general to pass bc testosterone already created permanent features like thick jaw and voice

I'm a closeted FTM right now cos I'm in the same situation with a family that I don't think would accept me or understand or be kind at all, but then suddenly a year ago my cousin just came out as trans, too (MTF)! I'm so proud of her for having the courage that I don't, but just felt like sharing. Now you know of at least one more cousin pair, haha. Of course, the biggest difference between you two and us, is that she just turned 18 a couple months ago, and I just turned 28 earlier this month, and we don't really ever hang out. I'm hoping to change all that in the future and just exchanged phone numbers with her and her mom this past Thanksgiving family get-together. I really love your videos, the ones I've seen so far, and plan to subscribe and watch more as I work through my own struggles. Thanks!

I'm FTM and I have an MTF cousin! She also lives in the south and it is hard because she is also still in high school. We have a pretty big age difference and also live far away so we didn't really develop much of a relationship but one is starting to form a little more now that we both know about each other being trans. It is crazy, but also nice to have that knowledge of support within the family.

This is awesome! When I came out it was easy for me to transition because I was not the first in the family. My mom's sister/ my aunt is also transgender MtoF and I have 2 cousins 1 how is 10 years older and another who is 5 years younger then me who are also MtoF.....I'm just glad both my parents have been supportive of me being so, and addresses me as their daughter 😊 family is everything ❤️👍🏼
