That was a difficult conversation, but everyone did well to keep it respectful. Whatever we think theologically about the issue, we should always love and respect people unconditionally, because that’s what the Bible teaches.
@christopherflux62543 жыл бұрын
@CCP BOT The Bible teaches that we should love even our enemies (Matthew 5:44), therefore our love for people isn’t conditional on whether they think or live the same as us. This doesn’t mean we agree with them or approve of everything they do, just that we love them. Keeping it respectful means critiquing ideas rather than attacking the person. (1 Peter 3:15, Colossians 4:6) A Christian Priest is an oxymoron, as the the Temple was destroyed in 70 AD and the only Priesthood that remains is the ‘Royal Priesthood’ of believers. (1 Peter 2:9) To be clear, I take a traditional view on this issue and it’s important to be honest about this. Yet we are commanded to speak ‘Truth in Love’ (Ephesians 4:15) So obedience in this regard requires us to be boldly honest and respectful/kind at the same time!

So, why isn't it obvious for those engaged in this type of debate, I mean, hmmmm, "discussion" (today's "safe/woke terminology), that professing Christians should center their dialogue over Scripture? Existential claims concerning personal experience, and other supposed evidences from psychology and medical science are not helpful in determining how the Church should view the Transgender issue. Have we become so timid to bring Scripture to bear against every argument that would subvert the true Gospel? Speak it with grace, contend with a spirit of love..... but speak the Scriptures, argue the Scriptures, "reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching" (2 Tim 4:2-4) Come on Christians, for the sake of Christ, and His shed blood, let's show some bold love here... the Scripture, the Scripture, the Scripture!

The church is very confused: one thing is a celibate person feeling transgendered (transgender dysphoria), whereas the other thing is gay relationships and ultimately gay marriage. It is gay relationships that is the problem for the church in relation to teaching in the Old Testament ("a man may not lyeth with another man"). The only issue of a celibate transgender in the Old Testament is wearing clothes of the opposite gender; this is hardly an issue these days when women wear trousers/jeans !
@Listenerandlearner8703 жыл бұрын
A really good discussion. Whilst historically the conservative side has been "mostly about detransition or desistence" and the liberal side "mostly about transition" the discussion seems to be broadening generally and this is also happening in the Church. Applying one rule in absolutely all situations of transgender issues may not even work practically. It must be said somehow that churches should avoid a policy of making detransitioning compulsory. There are great Christians who stay transitioned for ever and great Christians who desist or detransition. Varied good journeys can be accepted and compared as Christian options and more knowledge of God's will in this area will so result.

This was a fantastic yet difficult conversation, but the differences between Preston and Christina are striking. I am puzzled at how other commenters here on KZbin thought that they were saying the same thing! Bizarre. I did find it quite frustrating trying to follow Christina's definition of the word or concept of "gender." Does gender have to have a transcendent meaning? Obviously, for practical purposes there has to be a usual sense we use the term, but does it really have to be something set in stone? Being male as in gender male isn't about genitals or genetics, its a social, cultural and personal thing by definition. As a Catholic and a certified Catechist, I accept the doctrine of Incarnation. God underscored the dignity of the human person, by taking on flesh. In relation to the trans debate, there must be a starting point. Every human being, at some stage in their life, has felt uncomfortable in the body, everyone. As a male, I will never know what it is like to have a period, grow breasts, get pregnant. Scientifically, it is impossible for a man to become a woman and vice versa. Should Chris's body be exhumed in 100 years, science will demonstrate that this was a man. At it's core, this debate highlights the brokenness of our culture; the heart-breaking suicide rate among the trans community provides evidence for that. The trans lobby is formidable in it's outlook. There is very little debate around the influence of Martine Rothblatt, Jennifer Pritziker, Warren Buffet and Jon Stryker. They make no secret of the colossal amount of finance they invest in influencing this debate globally through the education system and big pharma. Their vision is a distortion of God's vision for man, 'Imago Dei', promotes confusion, obfuscates and promotes dialogue at the expense of the Truth (Jn 14:6). Ne timeas.

Would Jesus Christ have healed, exorcised or blessed (ie affirmed) a man who said he was a woman who came to him? My guess would be exorcism. What transgender people seek is to be affirmed (& so to be able to affirm others). Acceptance or pastoral sensitivity is not enough. The Church must decide to either affirm or reject affirmation. Acceptance is not a solution that will satisfy either.

The interesting thing with gender theory is that it undermines the foundational premises of not just heterosexuality but homosexuality and transexuality. She wanted to live as a woman. But this flies right in the face of many feminists who believe gender is completely a social construct. The LGBTQ+ community has so many disparate factions without a normative stance on what sexuality can or should be and it makes this so incredibly confusing.
@Ros170386coe3 жыл бұрын
Agreed. The volatile idea that you can be anything merely because of the feelings you have makes it very difficult to give any respect to their ethos as LGBTQ. The people ought to be treated with love and respect, but their ideas hasn't inkling of any rationale in normative reality.
@KillerOfWhales3 жыл бұрын
As someone studying gender theory at a Christian university, maybe I can help explain a bit. The fundamental idea is that, over time, western society has determined a set of roles that men and women should act within, which we call gender, and that much of modern society insists these roles should be assigned according to the sex you are born with. Some people find that they don’t want to live according to the roles assigned to their born-sex, and for some people this extends to feeling that their body is different from how they feel it should be. This is a strange idea for most cisgender (not trans) people, but there’s no denying that some people legitimately feel that way. Maybe it is a “mental disorder” (gender dysphoria), but that doesn’t mean they’re feelings should be dismissed. Saying that gender is a social construct is not the same as saying that it’s fake or irrelevant; in fact, much of the LGBT community supports the idea of gender as an essential part of society, just trying to expand how people can interact with it.
@KillerOfWhales3 жыл бұрын
@@Ros170386coe Maybe I already explained this enough, but I do want to emphasize that gender theory says that the way most people want to express their gender is already in accordance with the roles established; it is the trans people who feel that they should express their gender differently from what society expects from their born sex that are being dismissed by most of the Christian community, and that doesn’t feel right in accordance with theology of love, especially considering that there doesn’t seem to be a strong doctrinal argument that those feelings shouldn’t be respected
@Ros170386coe3 жыл бұрын
I hear you. At the end of the deduction, certain biblical truths need to be upheld no matter how genuine or sincere contrary feelings may be be experienced. It's hard to imagine a book like this being used to teach little boys with Roman, Viking, or Spartan societies. Gender roles change to certain extents and are negotiated by each culture. My point was simply to say that she was saying she wanted to be a "woman" hence why she transitioned. And a statement like that presumes a particular gender role which seems to be debated more broadly in feminist circles as something that is completely socially constructed. So you essentially have a man trying to portray his own perception of what a "woman" acts like, which only perpetuates many of these gender roles. But your very charitable comment is helpful. If you don't mind me asking how do you reconcile your studies with you faith? I would think our gender roles should always be compared against the norms established in the Bible (easier said than done). And I have a hard time seeing how sex transitions are consistent with the Scriptures. But I'm curious what you think.

Just had a thought. When Jesus returns and we receive our new bodies (or are transformed to them, if alive at His coming), is it reasonable to anticipate that any cases of gender dysphoria will be completely and instantly healed? If so, then the physical body and mental state will be in alignment!
@danh46983 жыл бұрын
Excellent point! If we are going to be given new bodies in the new world, then are our physical bodies now really a good indication of who we are? Whereas our minds and souls are what we keep in the New Creation (I think? is how I read it), so surely our gendered minds should be considered the more important authority than our sexed bodies.

It is estimated that 3% of the human population is gay, and 0.3% of the human population is transgender (i.e. with gender dysphoria). These proportions are the same for all cultures around the World. The question to ask is why nature generates and tries such phenotype variants ? The problem around the World is how various cultures accommodate such phenotype variants ! Society taking a hostile view to the phenotype variants does not help matters; society is hostile because it does not understand the issues and hence does not how to accommodate such phenotype variants.

While I cannot fully understand the lgbtq people and what they’re going through in society today, I know that the Bible teaches us not to conform to the world around us and embrace the culture we’re living in. A big mistake lgbtq people make is they think that to love another person always means to affirm them. That’s not true. If I don’t accept one’s sexual orientation, that doesn’t mean I don’t love them. From a Christian perspective, It’s quite the opposite. Also, I think lgbtq people use the word ‘identity’ falsely. On a Christian worldview, our identity is in Jesus Christ, not in our bodies or internal feelings about our bodies. I know Christian lgbtq people will be offended when reading this but I pray for the Holy Spirit to guide you to the truth about who you are in Jesus Christ.

At 26, Preston makes it sound like there is some tension between how we view ourselves, and how God sees us, and I don't necessarily see that as so. God, if the concept is to be meaningful at all, would be situated within the human subject, not outside of it, because we have no access to anything not mediated by our subjectivity. And lest this be misunderstood as somehow being non-Christian, this has deep roots in the Christian tradition, particularly mystics like Meister Eckhart: "The eye I see with is the same eye that God sees with".

Christina seems to see a disconnect between Preston's book and where he stands biblically on gender identity... @@lew1689 🐟 25. THE ROLE OF FEMALES: Women are fortunate because they are BORN with a job: Daughter. Wife. Mother. Females normally have no role in public life. Exceptions to this rule are relatively rare. For instance, women may work in the arts (singers, actors, and dancers, which often demand female players), or as maids or nurses, both of which are feminine duties, providing it has no detrimental effect on their PRIMARY function, as daughters, wives, and mothers. So, a female’s fundamental role is to serve her MASTERS (any man in her family circle), even from a relatively young age, by performing domestic duties and raising her children. Barren women (heterosexual or otherwise) are extremely unfortunate, but can still devote their lives to serving their husband, father, grandfather, uncles, or in the event that none of those men are extant, adult male cousins. Studies have shown that the more a woman deviates from this innate societal function, the less she is fulfilled. The phrase, “Cat Lady”, says it all. As a general rule, women should be protected in the home, and never wander-out alone. They should FULLY cover their bodies in the presence of post-pubescent males outside the family circle. Even the prostitutes in some nations wear veils in public, even if out of fear of reprisal. Having lived the eremitic life of a monastic priest for several decades, I can attest to the importance of keeping one’s home clean and tidy. It is obvious to me that housekeeping is very much a full-time occupation, and that if I were to neglect my domestic chores, my health and comfort would greatly diminish. As is to be expected of a person in my position, I follow a strict diet and am obsessive in regards hygiene. Without a spouse, the onus is on me to maintain my residence in a prim and proper manner, even though it results in me spending less time teaching religion. Therefore, the role of a housewife is of paramount importance, and must never be discounted by anybody, particularly feminist ideologues. The ONLY reason I have resided alone for most of my adult life is due to the fact that there is a severe scarcity of decent women in my country, and indeed the entire world, what to speak of holy and righteous women. Unfortunately, few women, particularly in the more affluent nations, receive adequate training in the connubial arts any longer. In recent centuries, due to various factors (FEMINISM, in particular), women have become so degraded, that is it practically impossible to find an example of an ideal woman. Therefore, in order to reference examples of such a woman, one is forced to refer to figures from ancient myths. Mariam, the mother of Lord Jesus Christ, and Devī Sītārānī, the wife of Śri Rāja Rāma, King of Ayodhya, are the epitome of womanhood, and ought to be the role models for each and every girl born on this planet. That is assuming, of course, that those two women were, in actual fact, the gentle, refined, humble and submissive goddesses they were portrayed to be in the archaic scriptures. Obviously, this teaching receives an ENORMOUS amount of scorn, contempt and derision from a certain proportion of women (and also many "men"), but that is perfectly fine, because, such foolish feminists are destined to die lonely and alone, with no family surrounding them, and hopefully not transfer their adulterated genes to forthcoming generations. In some locations in the world, STRAY COWS freely wander the urban streets, displaying their teats. Similarly, in most locations, women wander the dangerous streets alone or in groups, displaying their bosoms and other bodily parts. Such loose women are no better than STRAY COWS. The TRUTH is very difficult to accept, right, Slave? “Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the TRUTH.” Siddhārtha Gautama (AKA The Buddha), Aṅguttara Nikāya 3.131 (Paraphrased). Paṭicchanna Sutta “...encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be self-controlled, chaste, good managers of the household, kind, being submissive to their husbands, so that the word of God may not be discredited.” ************* “Yet women will be saved through childbearing, provided they continue in faith and love and holiness, with modesty.” ************* “Women should keep silent in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be in submission, as the Law also says.” St. Paul of Tarsus, Titus 2:4-5. 1 Timothy 2:15. 1 Corinthians 14:34.

Yes, the Bible calls Christians to Exhort one another. This man, who is a priest, classifies himself as a Christian. As the body of Christ we need to Exhort him. Simple. Other people who aren't christians. We are simply asked to spread the Great Commission. If they don't want to hear it or have anything to do with it. We are to wipe the dirt off our feet and continue. Also, Jesus was never against wealth. He was against loving wealth. Take King Solomon for example, the richest king that has ever existed and no one was like him before or after him. But we know for a fact sexuality. You can either be a man, and copulate with a woman. or you can be a woman and copulate with a man. But you can be a rich generous man or woman.

And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless. Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things. That is, I may 'feel' myself to be something (e.g. mortal) but the reality is that in Christ even though I die, yet shall I live (Jn.11;25). 'Authenticity' and 'Truth' are two very different things. I think transitioning is giving in to the prejudice of society. We ARE fine as we are. It is the achieving this or that which takes us away from this truth. And it's the story of my unhappy life chapters that I would search to be something else, to think because that man seems happy, or all the movies says so, I should also achieve these things that are painted as happiness. I think it's obvious that the end goal of God is that we should not be so preoccupied with such things. I think transitioning send the message that the key to a meaningful life is to have a certain body, or role, or job, or house. I have no idea how to deal with the fact that people insist on doing it though, it's terribly hard. I have tons of faults myself. And especially I have traits that other people think are faults, but I think are virtues. And other people have faults that they think are virtues. A few different observations and thoughts: At 8:22 As Christina was telling her story, she said: "I overheard my father saying "Oh he's so effeminent". " I believe this statement from her father has impacted her life. Otherwise, I believe she would not have mentioned it in her story. It's important to note how a father's words impact the life of a child. Did her father love this young boy and did he accept the boy as an effeminent young boy? Did Christina, as a young boy, have a longing to be accepted and loved by a father? At 10:35 Christina made another reference to an experience, again, words, that impacted her. She explains that as she woke up one morning, words were formed in her mind: "God loves me, including the fact that I'm gay". There is no doubt in my mind that God loves Christina weather gay or straight or transgender, but does God love homosexuality? How do we know that a voice is truly from God? Do we believe any words that we hear or supernatural experience that feels like it's from the Lord? How do we know the words or thought was from God? We must test the voice and words with scripture. God will not contradict his word. Please know that it is my desire to show love and respect to Christina and all transgender people for that matter, whether I believe their decisions are in line with God's will or not. Father God absolutely loves them. This is how we reflect the love of Christ, when we treat all people with respect, kindness, caring and love.

We must test the voice and words with scripture. God will not contradict his word. Where in the scripture does it say "thou shalt not be transgender?" "It says he created us male and female." Sure. God created Christina female. (Also, in relation to non-binary people, it never says he stopped at just two genders. The Bible doesn't mention anything other than m/f, but neither does it mention llamas, or England, and both of those still exist.) "God doesn't make mistakes"/"God created us in the womb". Yes. Christina being a woman wasn't a mistake. Trans people aren't a mistake. God created them the way they are. "God created us in His image." Exactly!!! And God is neither male or female, surely?? I think the clearest reference to how much sex matters to God is Galatians 3:28 - "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus." That is me referring to the scripture, and using it to do the most good I can, which the most informed on this topic agree, is affirming transgender identities.

My spouse is trans. She came out 3 years ago after battling gender dysphoria all her life. She used to like to try her sisters clothes on and was told off, and steered towards boys activities. She became a Christian at 17. She bought womens clothes in secret then threw them out, over and again. She was prayed for and had counselling. She went for healing. She played football went into the building trade. None of it worked. At the age of 47 it got so difficult she finally came out and now lives as a woman. When I cried out to God about it, literally, God very clearly said to me "let her be who she is". That changed me, and has enabled me to support her through her transition. It has also given me a better understanding of how lgbtq people are treated. @sarahjf69 Жыл бұрын
@Sarah Pfeuffer thanks for your reply, I can absolutely say that Jesus is absolutely the source of peace and joy in my life. I would not be here without Him. As for whether I heard the voice of God clearly. I believe I did. I had literally just come home from the New Wine Leaders Conference, where I had spent the vast majority of my spare time on my knees praying, I found out the extent of my spouses gender dysphoria just before I went. She was really struggling, her depression was reaching crisis point to the point I was considering not going because I feared for her safety. I discussed her issues with some very close Christian friends whilst away. Both of them said leave her. This seemed to me to be cruel to someone already struggling. We had been married 22 years at that point. So I looked to God and I searched the scriptures. I found that there is only one verse in deuteronomy which seems to be the main 'clobber verse' for trans discussions. This was written in the context of prostitution in the temple, and is surrounded by laws which are in no way relevant or even legal in today's society. I then spent the rest of the week in between going to seminars and worship, on my knees in prayer asking for guidance. Once I got home I looked into Jewish scripture and found in the Talmud there are 8 genders listed, male, female and 6 in between categories. Jesus would have been well aware of this as a teacher. I listened to teaching from both sides of the argument, and found the arguments against to be confusing transgender issues with being gay..2 totally different issues. Being trans is about who you are, not who you love, it's not really about sexuality at all. I found that Jesus said nothing about being trans, obviously something that couldn't exist then, surgery wasnt available and neurophysiology didnt exist, but in Matthew 19:12 Jesus talks about different types of Eunuchs. (the nearest thing to trans in the Bible) This is open to interpretation obviously but would suggest that Jesus understood that there were differences in some people who chose to be eunuchs or who were born that way. The first person baptised by St Philip the evangelist was an Ethiopian eunuch. In fact Jesus words spoke about divorce and remarriage in no uncertain terms, the wider new testament scriptures spoke about women being quiet and not preaching, about dressing modestly etc etc, none of these things are an issue in most churches now and we would say very adamantly that the culture and times were very different, but nothing is said about gender issues. So when I got on my knees and cried out to God I had already searched my heart, and scripture, and when God said "Let her be who she is" it was for me, because I did not want to lose my husband. Since then God has been so good to me and helped, still is helping, so much through first grieving for what I lost, then supporting and loving my spouse through a very challenging time for her, she is far more at peace with God and herself, but finds the rejection from her church family very difficult. So I cannot doubt that the word i heard was real, and from God. Sadly though attitudes in the church are so hard and so entrenched that i am not listened to and my spouse definitely isn't! But it is God's church so I will continue to serve as best I can, I will love, and I will accept all who come seeking our Lord, whoever they are. If you are wondering about how my spouse and I conduct our relationship.....we are best friends, we love each other deeply, but that's as far as it goes. I am not turning gay as some people have told me i am!! . I hope that gives you some insight.

So grieved. I don't understand why Brierley or Sprinkle feel the need to surrender to the proposition that engaging in a conversation about issues is laborious to do with a "white, straight, non-trans, cisgender individual," or that having the discussion questions anyone's "existence." This is not about whether or not anyone should exist, or does exist, but about whether certain lifestyle choices are aligned with God's Word and truth. As Rick Warren aptly put it, “Our culture has accepted two huge lies. The first is that if you disagree with someone's lifestyle, you must fear or hate them. The second is that to love someone means you agree with everything they believe or do."

Using the modern psychological and sociological fields as sources today is so brutally dishonest, whether Christina knows it or not. These fields have become so wholly, and inescapably infiltrated by ideology that no changes can be made, and no dissidents will be heard. Just as we can’t look to, and use racial studies conducted during racial segregation as sources “the outspoken racist south found that black people are less intelligent and more violent”, we also cannot use today’s psychological studies on sexuality, gender, or religion. Just as we can’t trust gender studies coming out of Iran, we cannot use sexuality, gender, or religion studies from here. Just as we can’t trust religious studies coming out of North Korea, we cannot trust studies on gender sexuality, and religion coming out of here. These fields are so totally corrupted by ideology today. You will not get funding to study certain topics and say certain things against the woke, progressive ideology today. You might get fired for talking about certain things. You will ABSOLUTELY get backlash, harassment, death threats if you say certain things. Your work will not get published if you say certain things.Your work will be censored (especially online) if you say certain things. You will be blacklisted from further academic positions if you say certain things. Your reputation and credibility will be tarnished and you will be looked down upon in the minds of your peers and laypeople if you say certain things. Your studies will not pass peer review if you say certain things. You might not even be able to graduate if you say certain things against the woke, progressive ideology. Not to mention, the entire time you will be bombarded by propaganda in order to brainwash you, and almost all of your peers will be against you. Ideology corrupts (let alone the replicability crisis we currently have in psychology, it’s something like ~50% of findings can’t be replicated in the field. Or the fact of researchers deliberately skewing data). It’s absolutely disgusting what has become of the psychological field today, and this is coming from someone who used to love the field, and had spent many thousands upon thousands of hours reading up on it. Absolutely disgusting what has become of it. And this is the stuff that will be used to brainwash your children and the next generation, and will be used pass legislation mandating you agree and abide in it. (There is roughly a 15:1 ratio of Democrats to Republicans to give you a rough sense of how slanted the field is to the left. To give you an even better idea of how massive that slant is: women make up 20% of all engineers, and we all consider the engineering field to be dominated by men, and that’s not even close to how slanted psychology is to the left). And then, Christiana has said that our society is “dripping with gender stereotypes”. But if she can’t recognize that, then she MUST be able to see the trans propaganda going on today, and how they’re making it seem cool and special-thereby corralling teens and kids into thinking they are trans. If christiana can recognize that society is dripping with gender stereotypes, then it should also be easily recognizable that society is now dripping with trans propaganda, and censorship of people and ideas going against it. This is not a personal attack; these are, to my opinion, absolutely crucial points that need to be addressed.

God always accepts us as we are. It’s just a shame that people still do not accept others as they are. Some 30 years ago a friend of mine who is gay was nearly killed in his own home, simply for being gay. I am hopeful that this would not happen now. It must be remembered that we are all made in the image of God; not in our image. So we should not be excluding gay and transgender people as anything less than human. To do so gives people licence to treat them badly, unless they conform to our idea of who they should be. While it is true that biological sex is generally male or female, the expression of gender should not be proscribed. It is not of benefit to anyone to limit people’s expression to narrow gender stereotypes. It brings to mind a boy at school, who was mercilessly bullied because he was interested in music and dance instead of sport, and called a girl; and no ‘real’ man would want to be a girl. I am hopeful that our culture will become more accepting of feminine men, and by extension non-binary people. Perhaps the non-binary people have just managed to integrate their masculine and feminine aspects, and the rest of us still need to catch up. Scripture has been enlisted to endorse slavery, and to this day, the church, with few exceptions, generally still cannot cope with women ministers or priests, even though it was Mary, who first saw the risen Christ. I wonder how long it will take for the church to see Christ in gay and transgender people.

There are people that claim to be Christians and deny the authority of the Bible as the word of God. I don't know why anyone would want to be a Christian and deny the Bible. However, if we believe the Bible is authoritative and is God's word to mankind, everything we believe should come under and be confirmed to it. I have yet to hear a pro-transgender coherent argument made using the Bible. Philosophy, science, and reason should be included in the discussion, but if those areas oppose what God's word teaches, Christians are commanded to stand on God's word.

@@normaodenthal8009 yes, there are Pharisees. Something Preston said in The video that I agree with is that if we are commanded to love people and speak and obey the Truth, and if we believe God's word teaches a traditional sexual and gender ethic, it is actually loving to say it. Being a pharisee means to follow God's word outwardly without a heart that loves God and people. If we follow God's word with a heart that loves God and people, we follow Jesus' example. Like Preston said, this is a difficult topic and people need to be gentle and compassionate in speaking about it. 😊

Strange thing to approach Scripture as if it was ever intended for medical (physical or mental) or any other more modern, scientific approaches to life. Theology and even discipleship ethics can be discussed without the assumption the text is speaking directly to modern notions of reality when those ancient contexts had no such assumptions.

I love your channel Justin as an atheist so don't take this toward you specifically, but probably not a great look for a religion if we seriously have to discuss this like they are less than anyone else. You won't see a group of atheists having to discuss this as if a gay or trans atheist is problematic. I understand that you are on the right side and its great that we are opening that door in Christianity but the fact that this even needs to be done, should be a glaringly obvious problem for a religion that claims moral superiority.

Atheism doesn't have any moral rules, that's why it is not problematic. The fact that there are people who are experiencing this disconnect between their gender identity and their biology, that does deeply distress them to the point where they feel the need to literally destroy perfectly function organs in order to replace it with the mere "appearance" of other organs, it should concern you how they deal with it considering how distressing it is for them. We can accept that people should be free to make their own judgements on how they deal with it, but to just immediately think there is no moral concerns around mutilating your body is simply ridiculous. If you care about people, if you truly love them, you should care whether they are doing what is right for themselves or not.

We'd have to compare our moral philosophy and I could guarantee mine benefits everyone and yours hurts others. If your defense to simply say 'why ought I care' then you are just hiding behind actual understanding of measuring moral intuition and progression over time. It seems to be a level of imposition of will and well being. From a religion that's main figure didnt want judgement, you all sure judge every person for the dumbest reasons.
