Transistor is one of my favorite games. Heck may even my favorite. The soundtrack, story, and gameplay are all on point. Supergiant is truly made up of talented people. Nice review of the combat system. It is really in depth and has alot of moving parts.

Pyre had some crazy world design, unique character backstory and transitions from point a to b in an unconventional way instead of controller character in open space.

Bastion was actually the first indie game I came into contact with (Via the Xbox 360 homepage) I honestly didn't understand indie games at this point at all, and just dismissed them entirely. It wasn't until I built my first PC and started to notice that the games that received the most praise from other gamers were actually indie games, that I actually took notice. Now I almost exclusively play indie games. I mean I still buy AAA games, but I don't play them half as much.

Transistor is simply amazing game. Played it multiple times and still surprise me how geniuos and beautiful is it. Absolute classic in my opinion.

@@joethealternativegamer3935 Add it to your list, because it's depper and better than Transistor!! Weirdly studio growing game by game in quality, still they introduce something new but keeping their own style!! Supergiant is amazing!!!

This was the last Supergiant game for me, I skipped it when it came out. I actually didn't know that the combat was a hybrid system, and had I looked into it more at the time I definitely would have picked it up sooner. I still think Pyre is my favourite game by them though, simply because of how unique it is, and because we have not had a street style basketball game for a very long time. It fills the void of NBA Jam for me quite well.

I hope supergiant returns to this combat system. Each encounter felt like a puzzle that you can always optimize and discover new techniques. The combat expands tremendously during further NG+s and I have a feeling not a lot of people went back . I think the only fault I have is are how ruthless the game is NG+, especially when equipping all the limiters.

I always wanted to play this but the grid gameplay looks like strategy or turn based combat. I dig everything about this game but the combat system looks weird. Hades is great but this game looks beautiful are more original. I hope I was wrong about the combat…
