I'd disagree. I have listened to transistors and bastions songs before playing it. But not really paying attention to the meaning behind the lyrics. And then when playing there were those "Oooh shit, this is THIS song, this is the moment i have been waiting for (and I didn't even know what i was waiting for exactly)" I only didnt listen to Pyre's songs because apparently 1 song literally lists out the epilogue of every character.

This is why supergiant games is becoming one of my favorite developers even if transitor is the 2nd game they've made. You don't get this quality of music in games and the quality of details put into both games show just how one small group can made a huge impact in the industry. I've said this many times and I'll keep saying it: transistor will be my reason for getting a PS4.

That's because it uses the 'line cliche', the same harmonic device famously used in Monty Norman's James Bond theme. Basically, start on any minor chord then move the fifth of the chord up chromatically twice then back down twice. In this song, the guitar riff Darren wrote does the same thing.

Is it bad that I've become addicted to this song? This is one of the most beautiful tracks I've ever heard. I swear I've had it on loop for the past day or so, and it still sounds as absolutely stunning as the first time I heard it. It captures the game's atmosphere so perfectly and even gives off a bit of a "Skyfall" vibe (albeit personally I find this song better than Skyfall.) I can't help humming along to it, and occasionally sing along with it, which isn't something I normally do.

I wonder if the process analyse the superuser and try to "please" the Superuser based on reactions the Superuser make, and have had made against them. Royce for example, he did the maths, and found the Process and they became why Cloudbank kept changing, but in the way his maths predicted. It also began mimicking human quirks because humans trust humans, and it also used hard lines and shapes, as they're like mathematics: hard, as well as behaving in predictable, mathematical ways, as that's how he found them, but Royce wants art too, so the Transistor becomes his paintbrush. On the other hand, the process would have interpreted Red's songs, as they partly absorbed that part of her Trace, so they made the Spine, they heard the controversial "We all become one", and decided to enact that, oblivious to the fact that Red doesn't want that. the Transistor thus, became more of a weapon, designed to destroy Process (or impel them to go away), as opposed to Royce's ideals of using the process to create. Only when we interact with Royce, seeking a way to get to Fairview, then does the vague concept of creation occur to the process, and they build the bridge. which is genius, because it justifies Cloudbank itself: the process needs data, so the polling stations are set up, because information is a two-way street: the more data you give the process or an A.I., the better it can help you, and what better way to feed the data to the process than through a direct democratic system? Everyone gets a voice, which is why when you choose to change the weather, it's so significant, because the data is you, the only human left in the place, and your choice is a unanimous vote.

the stark contrast between the response to your votes at the beginning and at the end is an underrated and powerful story device starting out, the terminals either just eat your vote with no feedback or pertain to something the player can't see ingame, like the sky as the population decreases your votes just snap into existence without the need for "moderation"

***** Doubtful that they're directly associated with one another; at a stretch, Darren may have been a bit influenced by the man, but there's no media linking them on a professional level, much less Ashley. Just saying it would be rather interesting to see them cross paths on a project and work on it together.

It's just skin and bones Nothing inside Sleeping alone Fingers tied themselves In knots around the heart It beats in time I see the spine of the world Sparkle and shine, light the inside I see the spine of the world I know it's mine, twisted and tied You always go Walking on coals Walk away slow Feel the fire Light your way to me My siren song for you I see the spine of the world Sparkle and shine, like the inside I see the spine of the world I know its mine, twisted and tied I see the spine So come with me We'll fly right over Right over Watch it break If we get closer Much closer I see the spine of the world Sparkle and shine, light the inside I see the spine of the world You know it's mine, twisted and tied
