Transit connect poor starter motor

Hi the last few days my connect has being very laboured to start (has not yet failed to start). The battery is also good! Any ideas? Glow plugs also done in October with quality NGK items. Once started she runs well.....as well as a 227k 1.8tddi can at least. Also no charging lights on to suggest weak alternator either
