Not really indian travellers are budget travellers maldives focus is western European travellers it is still the honeymoon destination. And it's a complete different country. Even though lakshadeep is beautiful it's still in india and tourists have a bad reputation about india. Maldives and sri lanka will continue to dominate beach tourism whatever you say. Maldives has a lot of Chinese tourists they are the no. 1 world travellers and they spend lots of money So they won't lose maldives got Chinese travellers

Maldives has a potential place for a military base for china and if they do it will bring billion dollars every year that's more than indians will ever bring. India has nature so do sri lanka, bhutan and Pakistan, its not enough. India people don't have good attitudes or hygiene. Plus most places are far from each place its not close. India has a bad reputation regarding safety for women and religion safety
