What brake rotors are those?

Super rad bike! I'm just finishing building one up too. Interested to know if you rode the SID Luxe rear shock or jumped straight to the Topaz and what the Topaz brings to the party? I've fitted mine with a Pike Ultimate, but will start with the SID rear and see how I go. Cheers!

Great vid, what was the weight of this build? How's it ride?!
@JohnArthur3 жыл бұрын
Never actually weighed it, but it rides unbelieveably well. Definitely one of the top three bikes I've ever ridden. It can be a little out of it's depth sometimes, but that's to be expected for a 120mm bike. The rear Hunt wheel let go after a few rides even though I'm only about 75kg, so it's now got some fairly burly Halo Gravitas wheels instead. They've made the build a bit heavier but they're still running perfectly true with no dings - so it's worth it. This bike appears in our most recent video at Black Mountains CC.

I'm interested in your choice with the NX derailleur and shifter. Seems like you went all out on most everything else, but skimped on the groupset. Any reason behind this? Sorry in advance if this comes across as elitist.
@JohnArthur3 жыл бұрын
You're right, it doesn't match the spec of the rest of the bike (although NX is still pretty good kit to be fair!) The reason is quite simply parts availability

@@JohnArthur Thanks for the reply. Sounds like you get to ride your bike, while others are waiting for parts!

Is that a Diamond at 140mm?
@JohnArthur3 жыл бұрын
It's a diamond at 120mm! Super short travel bike this!
@dhzion3 жыл бұрын
Cool, I thought Diamonds only went to 140.
@karlheinzreichel6703 жыл бұрын
You chose the fast colour ;-) But why the piggyback shock? It's only a short travel bike.
@JohnArthur3 жыл бұрын
this is currently my own bike. I come from downhill racing and don't use it for it's intended purpose. It rides like a much bigger rig, it's one of the top three bikes I've ever ridden for sure!
