I know every one is psyched up for the 92 w/RDO but definitely don’t over look the PX4 w/RDO. It’s sweeeet!

I’m an excited new owner of a LTT RDO cut slide and I’m starting that transition. The LTT gear is just outstanding.

Got my RDO slide for my LTT Elite. Just waiting for my Holosun 507C-X2 with the ACSS Vulcan reticle to come off backorder. That should make the transition a little easier from what I am seeing on that optic. Can't wait to try it out!

"dry fire a lot". So true. Transitioned to an RDO this year and it was difficult and almost bailed, but I persisted and now my instructor is pleased with my accuracy, and he is cracked about accuracy! Old dog new tricks! Impressed my wife so much she is thinking about converting her Beretta to an RDO but she finds the 92 "heavy" already, (she in her 60's too). Suggestions anyone?

I certainly made the decision to put a red dot on my handgun, but the question is, who will pay for it?

I’m probably one of the few people left who hasn’t tried a red dot on a pistol yet. It almost feels like if I ever do, it’s then all or nothing. Still, I know I need to try it, because it looks like it’s the future of handguns.

What's holding me back is the reliance on batteries and electronics. By the time they make a holographic powered optic with (what I consider) sufficient durability and battery life in the span of months/years... I'm gonna be a living fossil. Fixed irons don't break off, shift zero, or run out of power and stop working. That's the kicker for me. I don't like the idea of my optic shattering or powering off when I need it. It's why I run flip-ups as backup alongside the scopes/RDSs on my rifles. Always have redundant backups for everything, even the simple stuff. Two is one, one is none, and all that.

@@Hanzer-ns5bh "fixed iron sights don't break off, shift zero [...] and stop working"?! ....yeah, that's funny. Irons breaking definitely is A Thing That Happens. And I've had irons, even with a tightened set-screw, start walking in the dovetail. Either of those is a "stop working" event. Nothing is infallible. Hence why Ernest mentions having backup irons in this very video. Less likely for both to fail at the same time. I'm looking HARD at the Holosun V2 red-dots...in large part because of the rave reviews about their durability etc, and that the battery is easily changed without dismounting the optic (which I'll likely do every 6 months or so, just to be safe. It's a $2-$4 battery, a couple times a year. Less money than a single mag of practice ammo.)

@@Hanzer-ns5bh i'm not sure if you mean holographic as in something like an eotech or uh1 but as far as micro red dots, the trijicon and holosun dots have battery life that is constant on for 3 years.... and the trijicon is pretty much as durable as the iron sights on the gun. what i mean is outside of something deliberately smashing the window, you're not gonna break the dot by smashing the gun on anything that wouldn't also be enough to screw up your irons or break the gun itself. your idea behind your reluctance is not logical as even with the dot you'll have the irons always up on the handgun. the only realistic issue with a dot on a handgun is getting something opaque to block the window or emitter or having adot that's too bright in a dark environment and you can't see as well with the firing eye. bindon still applies. regardless, it's not very hard to point a handgun accurately enough for hits. a lot of people do that anyway, not that it's right.

Looking to buy a gun soon & was wondering if I should just go straight to red dot to learn on, or learn classic iron sights first? Thanks, Your videos are helpful!

all about personal preference... I personally believe everyone should know how to shoot iron sights but the red dot simplifies the visualization process of shooting.

I want to order one of these so bad but can’t decide if I want to get the compact for carry or the full size. Leaning towards the compact but man finding a quality holster esp OWB is going to be a pain in the ass I have a feeling. Hope he starts selling duty holster for the RDO full size too.

I downloaded the Langdon target but the 8 circle was only about 5 1/2 inches in diameter whereas I believe an official B8 is supposed to be 8 inches in diameter for the 8 circle. Which size did you use in the video please so I can make a meaningful comparison? Thanks.
@ernestlangdon30754 жыл бұрын
The black area on the B8 is 5.5 inches for the 9 and 10 ring, the downloaded target should be the same. The 8 ring is about 8 inches.
