It's hard for any kid to leave a fun place and come back to the real world. It's even harder when you have autism. Transitions are harder with autism. She didn't want to go home at first but eventually she was happy to be there. Abbie had her best year at summer camp.

She really loves that camp. Everything she wanted was there. so happy that she got back to the transition fast. That would be awsome for doing bbq with all the people helped with abbie a pool party. They would love that. They would also love to see adorable abbie again. She would be soooo happy.

Also I think it’s great that she got to go away to camp. So many people with different disabilities really need an experience like a two week or even one week sleep away camp. So many parents don’t wanna realize what good it does to their kid. As adults I see some of the ones who never went to a camp just not be so independent. They are is a certain independence that your child realizes when they are away from you. Mine certainly realized how wonderful it was for me to go. A big change happened that set me up to becoming an independent person one day.

It seemed to me that Abbie wanted her new buddy Cathrine to come home with her. I feel like that’s why she grabbed her hand and pulled her to the car! I’m so glad that Abbie’s back! I’m a camp counselor for kiddos with chronic illnesses myself, so I definitely understand why Cathrine would have started crying as she walked away. Safe travels Isaiah! This mission trip will change your life! I went to Oklahoma after the tornado to help rebuild. We were building small buildings (barely big enough to be the size of a bathroom) and we put an air conditioner in them. That’s really all the money that they had at that point and they had sooo many people in line that we’re just sleeping on the street prior to that! So I know you will be even more changed than I was by mine! 💙💙

Saying goodbye as a camp counselor is awful. I worked at a camp in Maryland in 2012, and i definitely cried once I had walked away. It amazing, you go in thinking you’re going to make an impact on the kids you get, but they change you so much along the way. I’m not super emotional either, but the goodbyes are hard. Lots of tears!

Love watching your sub count grow so much everyday. It's amazing. You all are amazing!! Thank you for helping me through my everyday life struggle with anxiety, depression,and severe panic disorder. I also suffer w a disease called Chron's which is also severe in my case. Can't seem to get it into remission and I've had my large and small intestine resectioned w the hope that it wouldn't spread throughout the rest but it has. But I'm not having the last of the intestine taken out just yet. Extremely nervous about that bcuz I will have to have a colostomy bag 😢😷. I'm sorry this has nothing to do with your channel and awareness but I needed to let you know how much your family helps others that don't suffer from autism. I hope that's okay w/ your family. I watch faithfully everyday and usually comment. Do y'all read and comment back once in a while. I'm sure it's hard bcuz there are so many,but I'm sure I've heard Asa say that he reads the comments actually Priscilla too. Love y'all

Transitions are always hard and as parents, we get the brunt of them. Love and understanding is about all we can do. It's also hard when your kid has been away for a few days and they don't jump into your arms ready to go home. I think we are all going to witness a miracle in the next few years as Abby continues to grow and increases her personal awareness. The young lady I saw in todays vlog was lightyears ahead of the little girl I watched last year. She now knows the power of effective communicating and she is trying hard to learn. Like everyone else, I wish she could just spit it out and tell us what she is thinking. Maybe it's just coincidental editing, but I've noticed lately that Abby tends to get up and walk away a large portion of the time when the adults around her start talking about nonverbal autism. Even though she has learning signing potty gets you out of situations, when Pricilla confronted her about it in the SBK interview, she smiled and gave us the same look every other teenager gives us when we have caught on to their "game." I know Pricilla wants to hear her talk and Abby knows it too. During the SBK when She was asled if she loves her mom, Abby made the same three sounds at least three times. It reminds me of the adults talking in a Peanuts cartoon, but the 3 syllable inflection she used reminds me of I love you. One thing we know for sure is that Abby knows what love is and she knows she is loved very much!

nasri haithem what are normal people?
@wndud2521
@wndud2521 5 жыл бұрын
nasri haithem don’t refer to the people without disabilities as normal people. That implies that ppl with disabilities are not normal which isn’t true. Be more considerate with your choices of words that you use. It could make a difference in how you/society perceive and treat people with disabilities.
@Comintern1919
@Comintern1919 4 жыл бұрын
@@wndud2521 I know this comment is more than a year old, but I don't see the offence of the word "normal", because if you take offence of something or someone being called "not normal", you are implying that not being normal is something bad. It isn't. Not being normal is not something that is bad. Normal means, per definition, something that is not common. Something that doesn't adhere to the consensus, to the majority. Autism is, while one of the most common disabilities, still a small percentage of the overall population. So it is not "normal". But that shouldn't be an insult, that shouldn't be something bad. Because it isn't. Going by your logic we might as well completely get rid of the word "normal" since if Autism isn't not normal, then what is?

Safe travels Isaiah. I do not recall why you are going to Elsalvador but hope you get everything from the trip that you hope for.

How long will be Isaiah be gone? I bet Abby will miss her brother while he is gone. I will be going overseas so will miss seeing videos while I am gone, but will catch up when l get back to America.
