It’s a farewell song to our first president Nana Felix Houphouët-Boigny. The ones he’s telling not to cry are the deceased’s family (especially women). Thank you😊😊

This is a perfect translation. Meiway sang this song to console the family of The first president and Cote D'Ivoire at large.

It's amazing how the Nzema language varies from other Akan languages. The logic of the language is so familiar to those of us in the East. However, the departures are also so huge the two languages are very different. Hmm... Thanks to technology. Thanks to people like Queen Quayson for bridging the gaps.

My guess was right about this song. I never understand the words. But I always feel It in my spirit this was the meaning especially two years ago when I lost my two uncles continuously leaving the only brother behind which is my father .I always feel it that they are with my father and he should not be afraid they are solidly behind him and take care of all the family. I am Agni (Anyi) from Ivory Coast and your translation is good. Let me add some informations to your work. This song is a tribute to our first president Felix Houphouet Boigny after his death in 1993. Mamie Faitai and Mamie Djeneba are the sisters of our late president. Marie Thérèse (Mary Theresa in english) is the widow. Daoukro (it would be Daukrom in Ghana) is the town of the one who replaced Houphouet Boigny and his name is President Henri Konan Bédié (Henry Kwabena Bedie).
