I relate so hard to the “watching cis relatives get what you want” it hurt. Sure the things I got weren’t so bad, but when I asked for legos, they got me the “feminine” version. If I wanted to play with hex bugs, beyblades(the metal kind of course), play with little cars, I’d have to borrow them from my brothers because they never got me those. They kept buying me things in pink even when I displayed my displeasure. I watched as my brothers got the neutrally colored clothing items, hoodies, pants, while I got all these frilly shirts, hoodies with the tiniest pockets in a feminine cut in the color pink, skirts. Man I fucking hate skirts. Needless to say, I related to the video.

I still remember the horror when I realised that the make-up, lip gloss, soaps and bright pink clothes that people were buying me more and more of over holidays and birthdays would be permanent. Just that for every holiday and birthday ever. Complete ungifts that I never wanted or would use, other than a shirt or two in a shade of pink that I actually didn't mind (prob because someone called it bacon pink and I just... that was my weird ass sense of humor). At least before that, when I was really little, people would occasionally get me things I'd asked for or wanted, or sometimes picked things that weren't explicitly and only marketed as "for girls". Like, even when I was young and thought I was cis, I might not have hated that stuff at first but I just wasn't into it at all. So much of it was just a complete waste some other kid would have loved and actually used. If anything they just ended up feeding a stupid aversion I had to learn to undo out of refusing to ask about the things I was actually interested in. Took me a long time to be comfortable with anything fem on my own terms and reconcile that with what I was working out in terms of gender, longer than I bet it would have taken otherwise.

I'm just gonna add a couple suggestions for clothing. First of all, cargo shorts. I know they're also a staple for lesbians but they do wonders to square off your lower body and they're extremely practical. For t-shirts my go-to are either band t-shirts or ones with very strong graphics, especially those with full back ones, bonus points if they're horror or psychedelic stuff. As he said, small neck, heavy fabric, longer sleeves, better if black or dark. Tanks with broad shoulders, the ones that go from your neck to the point where a regular t-shirt's sleeve would be attached. If you manage to find the right cut for you it will add a whole lot of bulk to your upper body. As for jackets, I know it's not for everyone but Harrington jackets are the absolute best and I'm willing to die on this hill. A couple other styles are great too but there's something about the Harrington that hits different, gives you that punky hardcore working class vibe that I really dig. Cuts short at the waist, broadens your shoulders and hides anything that needs hiding. The only problem with this style of clothing is that it's pretty similar to what skinheads and punks wear, at least in my country, so you need to be careful with haircuts, especially if you also have tattoos. Because if you buzz it all off you'll probably pass with no issues but you'll also probably look like a neo-nazi. Might be speaking from experience

I’m so genuinely confused about my gender it makes me so frustrated. I recently got found out by my parents, they found my socials and I’m not allowed to have them and they found out I was trans. Well my whole family,(mom dad brother and sister in law) all said I was confused. Now I am very confused and frustrated. I talked to my therapist a few days ago about this and she made me feel a bit better, but my brother overheard this (I think) and told my parents and my asked if I had anything to tell them and asked how I was feeling, which lead me down a deeper hole of my identity. I’m so confused. I hate feeling like this. Nothing has helped me. Honestly I'm so glad that I few up with all boys. This means I know how to act cis, and because most of them are older, all my clothes are their clothes, so I have a bunch of men clothes. I've always been a "tomboy" so if i wanted something for boys, I'd get it! My family is homo and (especially) transphobic. They just see me as a tomboy bc of the way I grew up. I'm grateful for that.
