I love that I don't have to sow multiple seeds to improve germination. Your price point & quality is great & you still manage to have sales. You make gardening affordable for the small/home gardeners.
@gabriellakadarАй бұрын
Seeds are the least expensive part of growing your own vegetables. Quality compost costs money. The time it takes to start the plants at home, the attention they require, the root plug trays and seed starting medium, the fertilizer, then the hours spent to 'raise' the crops is way more expensive than the seeds. Even the water bill is orders of magnitude more expensive than the seeds. It doesn't make a lot of difference if a pack of seeds is $2 or $3.50. It's the smallest expense involved in growing quality product. Seeds are an investment. If they are quality, then they are worth every penny spent on them. I spend more money on mulch than on seeds.

Wow! This was quite enlightening. To think that many of us in the gardening community are trying to grow food for health and economical reasons and we are being scammed. It’s crazy they don’t have to label everything in the fertilizer that we are buying, that the markup on garlic is 4x - pure greed. These companies have ZERO connection to human beings attached to their profit margins. I’m so glad you are shedding light on this.

Tomato plants here are $ 8.65 I thought the price was ridiculous So I started selling vegetable plants for $ 2.00 I'll take the money and buy more seeds and sell them again this year. Companies are jumping on the bandwagon of raising their prices They think people will just pay it. I've had two businesses. I order with the "southern" seed and product people and know there customers talk about you often and they would also buy more from you if you carried more southern items. Best wishes and thank you for being one of the few honest brokers left in this crumbling divided and selfish world.

I hope you have planted some berries somewhere in your garden! Now is the perfect time to plant blueberries, blackberries (I like thornless cultivars) and strawberries (which will grow in pots) for a small first harvest next year. Having perennial food crops in your garden is wonderful. If your soil tends to be sweet/alkaline, amend the soil with peat, wood chips, composted sawdust, and/or pine needles. Mulch well with more wood chips. Make sure you keep them moist while they develop roots these next few weeks (mulch makes that easy). Then give a light fertilizing each spring, and you have berries for life. All of these grow fairly well in part shade, too. I do stake/trellis my blackberries. The blueberries form a pretty bush, and the strawberries are an effective ground cover.

Thank you so much for this video. I did something I very rarely do which is share it on my Facebook account. I admire your ethics and even more so your willingness to speak out. I first learned to love gardening the few times I visited my uncle George and aunt wanda's home. A tiny farm like backyard where they grew the most amazing things. My most enduring memories of childhood are connected to those people and that garden. I can close my eyes and picture every foot of their backyard. They taught me so much. Time marched on and I grew up but I didn't start paying attention to gardening for food until my four children and I we're on welfare and I found out then I could use food stamps to buy garden seed. I not only got what I could growing, but I learned about improving the soil. It's really amazing how much faster kitchen scraps breakdown when put through a blender and turned regularly in a square foot of soil. Seven days equals 7 square feet of amended soil. I even tried to get my fellow public housing neighbors involved and offered a class for our whole county public housing. I'd like to hope it paid off. These days I've been dreaming of my garden but another year has gone by and I'm still dreaming and planning because I'm 71 and not a spry because I used to be and I'm fighting heat, a lot of wind, a dog that likes to dig up everything, a flock of mourning doves and crows Who have discouraged me and the dreaded pocket Gopher in ground squirrels. However, I have plans in place to battle once again. Lol. This is my long winded way I'm saying thank you I've been watching your channel for a little over a year I think, and I've learned so much from you. You touch lives and make a difference. Bless youl

I am in central WI and am happy to find MI gardener. The honesty and integrity is what we need for this nation for as we turn back to God, he will heal our land. As i am in a cold state for the winter, i appreciate the how to videos and quality seeds i will continue to buy and just learned of the fruit possibilities 😃🎉. Quality and non GMO is the only way to go!!!

I do appreciate this informative discussion of industry practices. Thank you for this and I do hope that you will not suffer any adverse attention, despite not naming names. I just sent you guys an order, including for a fertilizer. I am grateful you offer your ferts in small containers so we can try out a new product without spending a lot up front.
