Because they don't want to come off as "partisan" which is how our political system works, it quickly becomes a team sport, you oppose the other side as a matter of principal, so in order to push and influence folks you play as a "neutral" party. The reality is it's all a propaganda scheme by the right wing to try and funnel the younger gens into conservatism. Because many of us who were expected to become more conservative as we got older simply didn't become more conservative, if anything a lot of us got more radicalized and went further left. So the conservative party is a literal and figurative dying party, they need fresh young blood to stay relevant.

We have a two party system, if you vote democrat you get EVERYHING democrats stand for, if you vote republican you get EVERYTHING republicans stand for, and if you vote anything else your vote gets thrown into the garbage essentially. Calling yourself a centrist because you don't agree with everything a party that you are voting for does means you can say things like "I voted for republicans because they said they would reduce the price of eggs not because they are trying to repeal trans healthcare or repealing gay marriage legalization.". If you vote for one you are still going to get the other, but every "centrist" I've ever talked to on these subjects seem to think that the things that they don't agree with aren't their fault even if they vote in the person that pushed them through.

It gets her money. That's why. Her views were slowly getting lower when she was on the left spectrum. As soon as she jumped on the centrist/conservative binge, her views went back up. Early on, Arielle was blowing up. And then she faded off when the 2014-2017 skeptic/centrist boom happened on YT. And she'd get like 8-20k views per video. Down from 50-200k. Now that she rebranded, she's back to where she used to be. It was a Candace Owens move. And because its appealing more to Gen X and Boomers, they're not going to grow up and move on and change their beliefs like a vast majority of the kids influenced in 2012-2017 did. This is now stable income for her to grift this way. The wild thing is that if Arielle stuck to her guns, and remained an open-minded and positive content creator.. she probably would have blown back up again. But at the time, she was literally part of the targeted demographic of this centrist/right wing boom. They hated her for being pro-LGBT and sex positive. She was seen as a weird lesbian. So she chose to jump ship and conform with them. I used to really enjoy her content but I had to stop. She also entered a weird groomy phase with 16-19 year old transmed kids that icked me TF out.

That was before gender was turned into this metaphysical "identity" or "social construct", before every kid and their dog diagnosed themselves as trans with no questioning from professionals allowed. The common thread I see in detransitioners is a complete lack of body dysphoria, mistaking gender for stereotypes. And more recently, even to feel like part of a cause or community. The new wave of people ID'ing as trans are all one of those. Sexism is so ingrained in us that people without dysphoria can't tell the difference between dysphoria and nonconformity. They even call us transphobic for transitioning, because we should "love our trans bodies"!

Yeah, it’s so harmful for the trans community as whenever someone does detransition, it always gets so much attention. So thankful that you’re one of those people who still respect trans people despite figuring out that transitioning wasn’t the right choice for you. I haven’t medically transitioned yet, but I’ve been out as a trans man for almost 4 years. So many people (even my own family and doctor) have questioned if I’m only doing this because I’m hopping on a trend/want to live as a man because it’s just ‘easier’. 2 things -- 1, *all* surgical procedures can make mental health worse. I had an emergency gallbladder surgery early last year, recovery was awful and I had to go back on the antidepressants I had been off of for several years because my anxiety and mental health in general had gotten so much worse. I would've died if I didn't have the surgery though 2, a lot of people don't want to vote for Biden anymore because of what he has said and done in regards to Israel and Palestine. This is actually REALLY IMPORTANT and a lot of people aren't aware: 🚨🚨ALL surgeries can increase suicidality short-term 🚨🚨 It's common in bariatric surgeries, cancer surgeries, pretty much all surgeries. It's unclear if this is due to side effects from medications, a physical trauma response due to the surgery, or a psychological issue triggered by being bed-bound and feeling helpless but ALL surgeries increase suicidality short-term. This is a known issue. There are all kinds of post-surgical psychiatric complications from ALL surgeries. Post-surgical depression, psychosis, etc are not uncommon. Surgical teams are trained to know about these things. They're cherry-picking about trans surgeries but this is a known issue with all surgical interventions. And this is something we should talk about because a lot of people don't know, but it's not a trans-specific issue.

@@cheesebatto No, you are wrong. I just informed her of her correct label which is polysexual, if she still identifies as lesbian, of course she can claim that, but it is not right. Also men who are sexually attracted to cisgender and transgender women are not heterosexual either, but polysexual. And you also cannot identify as bisexual if you are attracted to all genders, because the correct term for that is pansexual / omnisexual. And by the way 'gay' is not an umbrella term, but 'queer' is. Sorry if I sound knowledgeable and instructive, but I just don't like it when people use the wrong terms for their sexual orientation, so I have the urge to correct them, even if that makes me pedantic and fussy. 😌

Regarding whether you are woke or not. Don't be like Ariella, remember that the concept of wokeness comes very specifically from the black experience. It is about BIPOC people awakening to all of the systemic oppressions, marginalisation & injustice that we all became blind to. The concept can be extended for everyone but it came from and is most important to the most marginalised. So when people are "anti woke" they are literally racist.
