Thank you. I learned that watching your videos, but I had already robbed all the suckers to attempt getting fresh starts. Most made it through the rooting process. You guys are the pros. Thanks so much for sharing important details with us uninformed gardeners. I'm so happy to have found you guys and your operation is quite impressive. I was out there at 11 PM looking at that big Celebrity and some suckers are coming on strong so I believe it will make a good crop of tomatoes.

Thank you--this was very helpful information. I didn't realize they needed to be transplanted twice. That could explain some of the problems I have been having. Getting 12 adult plants from 72 seedlings does not seem like a very good average to me. I also didn't realize they needed such warm temperatures to grow.

Glad you are doing well with your tomato starts. Just a reminder about celebrity tomatoes being a semi-determinate... you need to leave 3 or 4 main stems on this variety, so be careful not to sucker too much.

Great videos for beginners. really enjoyed it thanks for teaching us. I have 2 types of tomatoes.

The transplanting allows the plants to be planted more deeply each time to develop a stronger, larger root system. Also, we need space in the grow room, and keeping them in a smaller pot at first gives us more room.

It is fine to get water on the smaller starts, (at least I've never had any trouble with plants as long as they are in pots). Once they are planted in garden soil it is best not to get water on the plants. We plant in the greenhouse with drip tape under grow cloth, so the tomatoes never get water on them.

Yogurt containers, mini blinds, great ideas both. I have been cutting up carryout containers and using ball point pen. The sun caused the blue pen to fade away, so I have to read the indentation on the white plastic. I know Sharpies fade in the sun too. I didn't notice what pen she was using in the video?

I have found the real "sharpie" brand lasts pretty well, just don't use the fine point. I don't use them in the greenhouse when I plant them, though, just while in the pots.

No. We just don't start our peppers or tomatoes in them mainly because we need hundreds of them and the soil blocks for starting takes up too much precious space early in the season when we are starting so many things and it's too cold to put them outside in the greenhouses yet.

I had always heard that you were not to shower tomato plants from above, but water them around the base. Can you please clarify? Thanks.
