I was thinking this as I was trying to play TF2 with American stuff. Granted, I decided that I hate life and should start in 1850, but I do have a game going on medium difficulty where it's 1920 and I'm already well over $500m. Started another one on a tropical map for a little change up. Still American, still medium mode.
@mrakomo3 жыл бұрын
@@zamboughnuts After playing the campaign, I started on hard in 1850 mountain medium map. I had to start four times. I bankrupted all the starting games. But now I love it. I strongly recommend trying that. I am in the early 20th century 90-ies and I finally started connecting more complex chains. It is so nice! The hills are really tricky to build trains upon (there is a limit how steep can be a track) and I even had to chain multiple locomotives to push the trains to upper level industries. The game is so gorgeous!

loved it, not gonna lie had a tear or 2 at that final ride, favorite part is when the river poped in on the downward path, just coming out over it, seing the huge city, all the boats on teh river and the planes and cars, then once you cross seeing the other big metro in the fog, chefs kiss

It's funny to think that this series spans 200 years in-game. Something that struck me during that last train ride through the map is just how incredibly alive the game world felt with everything going on.

Amazing series! This was hugely enjoyable to watch. The first person rides should be part of every episode where some major infrastructure goes up. Boat ride, bus ride, delivery ride. I'd love to see a bus pulling into one of those bus terminals

A worthy ending to a worthy series! We have come such a long way, and you really get a feeling of knowing these places on the map as we watched them grow from small watering holes to sprawling metropoles. That wonderful scenic ride at the end perfectly illustrates just how gorgeous a game this is, and it was a pleasure following you along. Happy New Year to you, your family and love ones, and everyone out there watching this! I for one will definitely be looking forward to what you may come up with next 😊

I followed Squirrel on and off for years, recently started watching this series starting with the Emissions episode and then going back to watch the whole thing. Would love to see this revisited with all the features they have added i.e. cities requiring more than 2 resources each: I think Squirrel may also need to add some handicaps/challenges/rules once you have started making a few million-dollar rail lines your kind of set. Such as: 1 Rails Depot only/All Track connected (with the caveat that he can move it once per video) High Hills/Lots of Islands - The latter is tricky as watching boats slowly move around the map is tedious, and will largely depend on how the map is generated Aiming to Achieve a Max Level HQ Higher Loan Interest Higher vehicle/infrastructure Maintenance You could also play with the growth factors possibly to have a higher impact from congestion/overcrowding/emissions to add more incentive to make the most efficient lines
@dereksmith61263 жыл бұрын
Great series, but very complicated. I'd love to see an alpine map next. Bridges disappearing into tunnels, twists and turns and spirals. Small towns and like in Switzerland, lorry hubs that transfer a plethora of goods onto multi-cargo trains which deliver to different hubs.

I started watching this series after maybe 10 episodes. First I thought "come on man, wheres my FS2020 coverage that I subbed for?" but then I realized that I was ignorant and had completely overlooked the fact that you were a sim youtuber in general. Then I tuned in once and followed the whole journey after that. Now I am hyped for what comes next and desperately hope for another playthrough of TF2 because I really grew to like city/transport planning and your way of approaching problem solving. Those 40+ minute episodes have flown by like nothing else and now something will be missing in my weekly routine on YT :)

@Jacksparrow4986 as someone that works in logistics. It's not total bullshit. If the customer pays, the line says. Even better if it's two ways. Obviously things are exaggerated by the game to fit in with the design, but global Air Freight is a massive business that makes alot of money.

I'd love to see a smaller map(for us poor muppets with aging PC's) that has one major goods hub that feeds into smaller hubs that in turn feed the cities around them. I hope this would make the rail lines look less like a bowl of spaghetti dropped on the map. I have loved this series very much, learned a lot and would dearly like to have my education continue, thanks Paul.

Wow! From day dot till now, this is indubitably the best series for TF2 that I’ve seen thus far. I absolutely loved it! I’d love to see you do a harder/more unbalanced map or maybe only use one type of transport (ie: only trucks, trains,…. Ect ect).
@benjamincorey62593 жыл бұрын
Where your high speed train crosses over the harbour and you have a pillar clipping with the ships, could you place signal points, or a piece of track peel-off (to be eliminated later), just outside the water area such that it allows you to delete just the track section over the water? You the re-lay the track bridge (it might require two segments) and change the bridge type to an arch type that doesn't require pillars. Another option is to use the landscaping tool to make very small columns of land. This would allow the track to end one bridge type and start another type over the harbour. Then paint the land columns to look like a manmade structure rather than an earthwork structure.

I watched this like a series on netflix, binge watching a few episodes at a time. The difference is with a TV series, once it's done, that's it. With this, now I can go play this game for my self, continue the experience. This was informative and entertaining. But, I changed, from episode 10 when I thought, "yeah, I can do this". To episode 30, "crap, I'm a noob, this guy with experience is having to think and adjust...". I'm going to find this game now, and with all the tips you gave, I'm sure it'll be more fun now, less frustrating making ALL the mistakes I would have... Thanks for doing this. Off now to binge the next series. ;)

As you look back over the history of the map, knowing how it ends, what would you have done differently during the early stages? Are there any "features" in the game that you wish were changed to improve it, not just to make more money but in terms of realism or ease of play? I've been dabbling in TF2 for a short while, really new, and find that by placing resources (mines) as far away as possible from the factories that need them and then ship the product to end users who are equally far away, I can get paid a huge profit in shipping even if closer resources would probably be used in real life.
