This is great, but do the things you mentioned work at the start of the game, in 1850, when your available money is restricted?
@tarcal877 жыл бұрын
Trucks and buses are not affected by terrain at all, I never saw my road vehicles going below, say, 70, no matter how steep or elevation-changing I build the roads. Trains may struggle at the beginning from 1850 but not afterwards. All you need to pay attention for rails is 1) curves /left or right/ not slowing down the max speed, 2) building as directly as possible without arcs, detours, etc, but not at all costs. Remember that you get paid for the air distance between A and B, even if you circle a rail line around a city for the station. Regarding curves, if your two stations don't "run into each other" in a straightish line (based on what angle you put them down) so you need to curve the rails at some point, do it as near the station as possible, where the trains would be slowing down anyway when approaching the station. Then the curve can be very tight, like 70-80kmh restriction as the trains would go faster if it was straight, at that point. Another point is circle bus/tram routs vs direct. Circles are less attractive to citizens, clearly because it takes them way longer to reach their destination , it can actually be twice as long if you go around in a circle. Direct lines are always better. Doing outskirt coach stations (that will be turned into trains later) is a bit bad, because it will increase traffic across the city, when the city in question is just a hop in the big picture (towns A to C through B, with a transfer all across B). If you build a train station in the middle of the city (as much as possible) and lay down the rails in advance (to prevent the city to build in the areas), it will have two benefits: the catchment area of the station will already cover a ton of buildings, reducing internal bus/tram traffic; and the total traveling will be more attractive because transfer across the city is not involved. If you do this outskirt method, you will struggle to transport all people by trams from the two (later to be) outskirts train stations just for a transfer.... I'm sorry but I find it a really bad advice video - this will work early on, will be a nightmare to manage later when the city triples in size and you will have tons of trams queued up still not being enough.

This is not what I would consider a "basic" tutorial. It's not of much use if you just start the game in 1850. This is more of a advanced tutorial.

OI! Many thanks for making this tutorial! I recently bought the game, LOVE the concept, but the ingame tutorials left alot to be explained. This video alone has helped me understand what the game expects and how to go about getting started properly. I'll be checking out your other tuts too, again, thanks!

campaign mode is like an advanced tutorial cause the truth is if you don't do the campaign mode you won't understand the game.

If you start having an unexpected product rock up at one of your stations, You said in your tutorial that this is a bit of a mystery. It is not, it means that there is a demand for that product somewhere along a line attached to this station. If you click onto that station it will tell you which line that is. That is part of the reason I rarely assign a particular product to a vehicle, In fact, that can cause this situation. If you have your vehicles set to pick up anything, you will find those products will be delivered automatically to where the demand is. You should set up your lines of supply with the end user in mind.

Was about to ask some stuff, but first gotta check other your vids, because maybe you've alerady covered it. Subbed and belled. Off topic: "belled" ... the fuck youtube becomes? Then later what? will i need to put pin number and password to make them sure about what i want to watch? isn't subscribing enough? Anyway, peace.

My default tactic, which has worked great for several 1850-Hard games. 1: Find a resource in a corner of the map that allows me to transport stuff both ways. e.g: CrudeOil(NearCity)->Refinary(Fuel)->City 2: Find another resource in another corner of the map e.g Livestock(NearCity)->Refinary(Food)->City 3: Connect the two with a new line. 4: When the 2 cities are getting near fully supplied, start adding drop-off Depots that supplies cities near the longer line. 5: At this point - you will be swimming in money. So choose what cities you wish to develop and start hauling passengers to/from these cities. (NB: Cities that has 0% passenger transport, will barely grow at all... no matter how much other goods you provide.) Thanks for the entertainment. :)

Ok so that is why my refinery just shuts down for 10-15 sec. randomly. Thank you. So if i understand correctly you can control the % of supply covered by how many buildings you cover with trucks?
@AddMeGamers7 жыл бұрын
Nope, the coverage is the highlighted area of the station you are using. So if the station covers 60% of industry i will be able to get a maximum of 60% unless i put another station that covers the rest. What you do is click on the building in the covered area and see how much each is getting. if the buildings in the covered area is getting around 30% of the resources needed. Then you know you can supply more. So either your truck quantity is good enough or you need to supply more to the depo for the trucks to bring in more. Or you have enough resources but you arent supplying them. Hope it make scene.
