Stop giving contacts to companies that keep getting paid to keep repairing what they keep repairing.

Speed limit increases ASAP please!!!!!! State highways to 110kph and open roads back to 100kph!!!!!! Let's also seal some gravel roads in Auckland, as well.

People used to complain about Ministry of Works "leanings on shovels" now days its 3km's of orange cones & not a sole to be seen until its public/school holiday. Standing with ipads & hi Viz ( leaning on shovels must be an OSH Hazzard), lolly pop persons, patch job that breaks up/sinks, they back in 6 months all starts again. It's a "cash cow, leach industry" for these companies, not just limited to the transport industry.

No amount of additional fixing will work until we stop importing the crap bitumen from Philippines and make our own good stuff. Additionally I believe that in NZ we cold pour it which means it doesn't set properly, where as if we heated it first then poured and rolled, it would set much better and last longer. Half-assing it does seem to be the NZ way though.

Agreed. And they sweep up more gravel than they laided the first time. And get paided a second time to come back and fix up there rubbish first attempts. Who checks this work before signing it off to be paided.😵😵😵

We need to change the way we build our roads, the current formula no longer works. N.Z needs to start building/rebuilding roads with a concrete base. While this is a more costly approach, the roads will hold up much better in the long run.

First off, pot holes are created mostly by heavy vehicles ie..more EV's more pot holes so bill them & road money been spent to build bicycle paths where it should be the bicycle user funded. Healthcare, Schools etc.. we all use sooner or later but why are we constantly paying for things we'll never use when it should be the user who pays their own bill.. ps..Keep your murals on the wall, stop painting the roads which become slippery and dangerous especially in the wet, obviously you've never riden a motor scooter or you'd know this fact. And do we also have to point out the sole purpose of a sign/name is to be informative and if it's illegible being unable to be read/spelt by most it therefore isn't fit for purpose.. Common sense.

The problem is the repairs that are done. It is a revolving door of poor workmanship and money to the contractors. Once upon a time they used big heavy rollers to tarseal damage. Now they use plate compactors they know are not fit for purpose.

Traffic Management: why does NZTA reduce the speed on existing highways to 80km in areas where RoNS are being planned? Is this to give a slanted impression of how much the new road has improved travel time 5 years later when works are completed!

Reinstate Marsden Point refinery (closed under jabcinder's watch) so we can have fit -for-purpose bitumen production instead of poor quality imported pothole bitumen unsuitable for new zealand conditions. stop giving petrol taxes to the slush fund for cheaty of waitangi payouts instead of putting it to road building and repairs which we were lead to believe the tax was for in the first place.

Now New Zealand needs to catch up with the rest of the modern world and start doing this at night when traffic is at a minimum instead of continually holding up daytime traffic, I worked in many countries from 80s into 2000s and all this was night work. Problem is most of our roads were built before 50tons was being continuously driven over them so the base isnt up to it and like most of our failing infrastructure its going to take billions and billions of taxpayers money being thrown into a bottomless pitt
