15 million US dollars? Can someone imagine how long a university with computer science departments could be constructed and run with that sum of money in South Africa? Let's say 1 million US dollars to purchase land and build university, 1 million dollars for all computers and internet at the university, 1 million expense per year for 13 years... In those 13 years, I am sure South Africa could train at least a handful of cybercrime experts to protect their country. That said, I am not affiliated with any political party, any religion, sect, caste, tribe, last name, race, pin code, region, language, gender (women, LGBTQ), media, NGO, business, any Government institution, dress habits, food habits, exercise habits etc.

@@soilproductions55 Thank you for understanding though some of the assumed calculations in the comment above may be inaccurate. Sometimes it is best to get back to asking basic questions in Parliament, Universities or just around street corners like what is the participation of South African universities in the development of South Africa economically, socially, politically and diplomatically? The power of USA or China did not happen by miracles of following white washed religions. The power of USA, China, UK, Germany, Japan and other developed countries is due to the number of world class universities in those countries. Governments are made of people who are representative of the sensitivities of their demographic. Until a decade ago, movies being the cheapest entertainment, besides a spouse, were imparting knowledge, intellectual stimulation and political acumen to masses. Since last decade, there is a demographic shift towards internet and on-demand content. The on-demand internet content is such that people actually see what is happening around the world and aspire for the same. So even the worst Government will have to adjust to the needs and aspirations of people in due course of time and there is no need to be doing coups and being belligerent against existing governments. The intellectuals and their NGOs must maintain focus on increasing the number of universities and also quality of education at those universities. You see, the power of China does not lie in their sweat shops anymore. China did not lift their 800 million people out of poverty sweating for other nations. The power of China lies in their university system with more than 309 globally ranked universities (rankings are from 2022 US News report of Best Global Universities Rankings available online for free). If someone checks this report of globally ranked universities, one may notice that the nations with highest GDP and per-capita income have most number of globally ranked universities. Thus one fundamental step towards improving the standard of life in Africa and for African diaspora around the world is by building many more universities in STEM fields than there are now to educate the youth so they participate in the industrialization of Africa similar to Europe, USA or East Asia. Even the study of Psychology on how to communicate with even a ruthless leader is important for all highly educated Africans who are the real minority of full-tax payers in African nations. South African embassies in all developed countries must make efforts to reach out to black diaspora actively by organizing conferences, festivities, forums, get-togethers etc., in those countries. Though it’s late for Blacks & coloreds of Africa to develop their birth/Ancestral nations in STEM fields, those affluent/well educated citizens and diaspora may still motivate their own country’s people to develop their birth/Ancestral nations like Israeli-Americans helping Israel, Korean-Americans helping Korea, Chinese-Americans helping China, Hispanic-Americans helping Hispanic world, Irish-Americans helping Ireland, French-Americans helping France, Vietnamese-Americans helping Vietnam, Indian-Americans helping India etc. Therefore Afro-Americans, Afro-Europeans, Afro-Australians and Afro-Asians may help African citizens in their adopted countries and also Africa. USA with just over 330 million people has more than 282 world-ranked universities according to 2022 US News Report on Best Global Universities Rankings and more than 3000 accredited universities. For over 1300 million people on Africa, there must be more than 1000 world ranked universities and more than 12000 accredited universities. How many are there now to ensure sustainable technologies like electricity and internet? Right now due to lack of highly educated man-power, foreign countries are being involved in Africa for many high-tech projects of trains, planes, cars, gadgets, roads, airports, medicines etc. Africa-led & Africa-owned Development is required for the success of Africa. For that, Universities must be increased drastically in all nations of Africa wherever there is high-speed internet. Africa must have the choicest man-power to work on not only latest sciences and technologies but also social and political reforms ultimately improving the overall standard of living of all and their families. When the overall standard of living of all communities is improved, then they will have time to discuss, debate, research and become more aware of their voting power inside universities and also outside in communities. For those who can’t pursue studies at Universities, there must be vocational colleges teaching them 21st century job skills so they either provide their services or start their own trades. Then may be African Diaspora could go there and be as productive and have similar life-style as they have in developed nations. According to 2022 US News report of Best Global Universities Rankings, here is how East Asia is with respect to the number of world ranked universities in Sciences, Technologies, Engineering, Mathematics, Medical sciences etc. China(309)+Japan(111)+S. Korea(58)+Taiwan(33)+Thailand(13)+Vietnam(5)+Singapore(4)=533 Entire Africa with over 1300 million people has only 66 universities as per the report. Innovation, Patents and startups appear to be directly proportional to the number of universities with world standard education in Sciences, technologies, engineering, mathematics, medical sciences, management etc. Therefore, we must all make everyone understand what is meant by A KNOWLEDGE-BASED ECONOMY AND ITS IMPLICATIONS ON GLOBALIZATION. For example, the same amount of metals in kitchen utensils gives less profit than a car or a smartphone. The difference is knowledge used to make a car, a micro-chip or a smartphone or other such high-tech product. The same weight of potatoes gives less profit than same weight of a bag of delicious chips. That’s the power of KNOWLEDGE-BASED ECONOMY. African politicians, top bureaucratic brass and media houses must be made to understand that Universities are also part of infrastructure of a nation besides drainages, toilets, roads, air-ports, railways, internet & phones etc. Stadiums, railroads, industries and drainages are fully functional right from the day they are inaugurated. However, universities are like nurseries of orchard saplings. When seeds (students) go to the nurseries (Universities), they may all sprout. And just as seeds sprout and grow to yield food with lots of fertilizers and pesticides, the youth sprouted must grow with all the nutrition and vaccinations to yield tangible results of the development for nation. The richest farmer (corporation of the foreign developed country) will pay lots of price for the saplings because he is in a hurry to get them into his farm (foreign developed nation). Once he’s done taking as many as he could plant, the rest of saplings with degrees are left-overs and must struggle willingly in the environments where they get planted. Thus, similar to world-class products being produced by world-class high-tech machinery, world-class intellectuals get created due to world-class universities. And when there are many of them proportional to the population of Africa, definitely African Union will emerge as a superpower like European Union. Thus there is a need to enhance organized education in Africa similar to at least East Asia if not USA or Europe. Some leaders of African states or countries may not want to modernize their countries, while others are eager to modernize their countries. Same thing happens within a country, some want to modernize and some don't. Whoever wants to modernize either at city level or country level must be encouraged and others will follow in due course of time. My dream is to see every African university student in every university all over Africa, given 247 access to a super-computer nearby so they can research on semiconductors, fuels, vehicles, pollution, global warming, Climate change, biodiversity, latest gadgets, medicines, AI, drones, robots etc. Progress and Prosperity Always! Where there is no progress and prosperity there is no Peace or there is no Love. Prosperity inspires awe and respect of one’s neighbors, relatives, communities, cities, states and nations. Then those prosperous would have too much at stake to risk an attack even for religious or ideological reasons. Entire world thinks….”Is my neighbor/relative/sibling going to be so poor? If he is going to ask me money or enter my home to loot, what should I do? If he listens to me, how much can I pay him for serving me? If not, Should I teach him religions and ideologies that I myself never followed? Prevention is better than cure! What should I do to avoid him from now on?” That’s how majority of people think either in microcosm level or at macrocosm levels (village, city, state, country, world government (UN) levels). That said, I am not affiliated with any political party, any religion, sect, caste, tribe, last name, pin code, region, language, gender (women, LGBTQ), media, NGO, business, any Government institution, dress habits, food habits, exercise habits etc.

So South Africa doesn't have good security analysts??? What's happening to all the students studying data and computer science in universities and colleges? Are they not getting hired and trained?? This is making us look like a joke of a country.
