Thanks for the drum kit! I've made a beat with the following items from your drum kit: Kick 13, Snare 2, 808 4, Hi Hat 1, Open Hi Hat 4, Sweep 1, and FX 1. The dark-guitar-and-reese-bass loop is made by Chuki Beats. I added the guitar melody, a pad, and a reverse sound effect. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jV7VgXpvnNt0hNU

Another cool Hi Hat trick I just figured out was panning every other note on rolls and lowering the velocity a little. It sounds really cool with the Hi Hat I'm using on this beat. I put that towards the beginning of the pattern then I have another roll at the end that fades out. That sounds cool as well. Don't wanna get too crazy with the high hats though like you said. A little variation goes a long way.
@NavieD5 жыл бұрын
Adding subtle changes like these go a long way. A way to automate this process a bit is to just slap a flanger/phaser plugin on your hi hats. It'll add a nice bit of movement onto your hi hats with relative ease.
@craigdaubbeats-rapinstrume91855 жыл бұрын
@@NavieD Yeah I do that sometimes. With this my goal was to pan every other hit within just that roll and fade back to the middle. So it went far left to right and faded to the middle. Right after it there's a chain perc hit. It sounds really cool. I started this beat as just a chill Spanish vibe guitar chord progression and melody. By the time I got done adding all the elements it ended up turning into an aggressive rap beat. That tends to happen a lot when I start with melodic elements first. When I start with drums I tend to know exactly where I'm going. When I start with melodic elements I'm always surprised by the way it turns out.
@NavieD5 жыл бұрын
@@craigdaubbeats-rapinstrume9185 which (in my opinion) is how you learn and grow. To me, if you know exactly where the beat is going to end up, you don't really learn anything new.
