love all this great insight that you bring to this subject and the breakdown of target impact and reading the break that with mount where the eye is as a great starting point .isee so many people that have this part together but dont have proper stance and balence to get to target running out of room in thier stance causing them to force a shot.

Great episode! I would be interested in an episode specifically about 27 yard handicap shooting.

I had to quit doubles (my favorite discipline)after my bad back put me on a stool to shoot. My gun beat my face up so bad it quit being fun. Wish I'd had access to a gun fitter 15 years ago!

Question: how would you set up a gun like a browing citori cx that is already has a 60/40 rib? I can't seem to get it to not shoot high. Thanks!

I have been practicing with 7/8 oz 8s at 1150 improved mod choke... low recoil ,cheaper to shoot . If you are on the target ,it will smoke them.

Thanks for covering this topic. Very helpful and well explained. I currently have a new Kolar trap combination using the 34" unsingle with the "IM" choke. Just started shooting so I have only been shooting singles from 16yd. Mostly shoot winchester AA 1145 1 1/8 8's. Typically breaking high 80's to low 90's for 100. Never really make smoke balls. I will switch out to a Full choke next time out to see if I can get some better breaks. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge and for responding to listeners questions.

You guys shoot some heavy trap loads! Its real common in the UK to shoot a 24g 7 through a half or 3/4 choke and they still smoke targets.

Just stumbled on your channel... really digging it. I got a question for you. I recently picked up a Browning CXS as kind of a do all gun. "For me" it's pretty barrel heavy. I used Ben Husthwaite's temporary fix by cutting a couple of 1-1/8 ounce shells and used the shot side of the shell in the bolt hole, after filling the hole with paper towel to keep the weight out all the way back at the butt pad. It made a huge difference and I'm now loving the gun. My question is what do you think is the best way to make this a permanent modification? I'm worried over time this will start moving... Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

This is a pretty common method for balancing the shotgun. If you make sure to fill the space where the weight is stable you should be good.

Hey Zach and Ricky thanks for all the good advice in your videos I just discovered them. Should i shoot my new gun on paper to check my point of impact for left and right even if i am looking down the center of the barrel then adjust comb left or right accordingly. Then go to 27 and adjust rib and comb up or down for good breaks? Thanks keep up the good work.

Pattern board is great for left / right... Lock the trap and shoot birds from singles and your yardage to dial in your POI.

Just curious, if you see a 1/2” gap in between your beads but your stock fits just right, does it make sense to raise your rib? Or does it make sense to shave down some of the wood on the MC?

Does anyone know the actual angle relative to the shooter of hard- and quarter-angle targets from posts 1 and 5?
@traptalk275 ай бұрын
It varies as the machine can throw all angles within the far right and left.
