Is it possible to use the colours from a UV map?
@MaxonRedgiant3 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can! Import your texture file into your project and put it in your comp as a hidden layer. Under the Layer Maps>Color and Alpha section, choose your texture map layer, under Map Over choose it to be UV (OBJ only)

@@MaxonRedgiant Thanks for the reply, I've followed your instructions but unfortunately there's still something missing. I've unchecked' Ignore Imported UVs' from the model settings (tho there's no difference whatsoever between on and off) but I just have the colours from the texture map - it looks like they're just projecting downwards onto the model and the UVs aren't being used. I've checked the model/UVs in both Maya and Blender, there's nothing wrong there. Any ideas on I what I could be missing?

Is there a way to have a solid fill for the inside so we see the particles on the outside of the mesh that is facing us only?
@MaxonRedgiant3 жыл бұрын
We'll pass your suggestion on to the team. Now, if the shape is simple enough, you could use the Visibility options of Far Vanish and Far Start Fade (with expressions to match those to the distance the camera is from your object).

If your shape is more complicated, you can use a second system (in the same effect instance of form - hop into the desigher) and set that one to be volume. That way you have two Forms in the effect - one on the edges and one inside as the volume. That would work for some cases.

Hey redgiant I have 15.1 version I am having trouble finding the transfer mod in redering menue in Trapcode form. Can you please help
@MaxonRedgiant2 жыл бұрын
With multiple systems in one effect now, you can choose for each system! Thus, it's moved to the Particle section of each system's settings.

I know this is a very old tutorial but I have an idea and curious if it can be done. I have the Red Giant Suite 2020 and I also own the the complete Element 3D package. E3D has a bunch of OBJs and they can be isolated into individual objects within the group and within the E3D viewer. Is there any way to use Trapcode Form on individual OBJs within that overall group and keep it as a group without having to somehow export each item and then import it and rebuild the total object again? Basically if I had a building and within that building it had pillars and a separate roof ect it would be nice to be able to apply different Form effects to each individual item. Another use could be to make an object semi transparent like say a tube or a vial or a sphere. Then apply either Form or Particular with either a smoke or fire effect so it appears as if the object is filling up or containing the effect within the object itself.

This would be really useful to know! Have you figured it out?
@howardwest27074 жыл бұрын
@@charliemakescartoons i was able to pull some buildings from the metropolitan pack and apply trapcode form to the overall but think I would have to adjust the model to make certain objects selectable to isolate them.
