The only solution for this problem is to have someone from your family or a close friend who has a running account which they don't intend closing as they are actively trading.... then transfer those defunct shares to the relatives account.....this reflects as a sale and based on the purchase price the person who is closing his account can claim long term capital loss. The active account holder then holds the defunct shares till he's ready to let go of it in a similar fashion

It's not a solution actually....just jugaad because SEBI is not bothered we have to find ways around the problem
