If I was a man and I got a girl pregnant, I could never walk away and leave her to raise the child. I mean going the rest of your life knowing that you have a child and the mother is struggling, is heart breaking.

I got pregnant right after turning 17. My boyfriend and I had been best friends since 8th grade and just got together a few months before me getting pregnant. I knew I was pregnant I just had this weird instinct. I layed out of school and went to the doctor. Sure enough I was pregnant. I was nervous to tell him. That same day I called him and told him. All I heard were cries of happiness. The only day I seen him happier was when our daughter was born 5 days before my 18th birthday. My father was upset for about 5 mins and realized this was happening either way. He was so happy to actually have a grandchild that he could see and that didn't live hundreds of miles away. We're still together today 7 years going strong. And I couldn't ask for a better husband or father. I got really lucky with him!!
@keemarie18 жыл бұрын
It really opens my eyes to see a man or "boy" that wants no part in raising their child. It's really pathetic and shows me and other women that there are still some good men out there. The main thing is use protection but if by chance you do get pregnant it's not the end of your life. I love hearing story's of teens who got pregnant and thought their life was over but took control and are living their life. Baby's may change plans but there is a plan for everyone of us.

"I should've seen it. I knew better. I've been taught better." This hits me real hard🤦🏻♀️ I've been through the same situation. I got pregnant when I was 18. It was so unbelievable. I never expected any of those would happen to me. My family had high hopes from me since I get good grades but with just a blink of an eye, one mistake, it all disappeared. Everyone in my family was very diasappointed including me, specially when the guy didn't stood up for me and my baby. Depression hit me and did horrible things. Luckily, all of those didn't let me die. Despite all the judgements and gossips, I pursued my studies and graduated SHS with honors. I am now 20yrs old, 1st yr college and a single mom with a 1yr 8mos. baby boy. I don't promote teenage pregnancy, I'm just sharing my story to express my thoughts regarding this short film. That mistake will never define who I am. It will be the greatest lesson and biggest motivation for me and my baby to reach our ambitions despite our situation.

That was a fairly normal reaction. It must have felt like he'd been slammed in the gut. Like any good father, he felt protective of his daughter. He wanted only the best for her. That scholarship would have helped, as hard as he must have worked to pay for college for her and her brother. She was active in ballet and the church, on the honor roll, and had been taught to focus on her education and wait to have sex. The dad came around in time. Because he IS a good dad, and loves her.

I got pregnant at 17 with my boyfriend of 3 years. My parents were newly divorced and not being good parents, selfishly doing their own things but I was still scared as hell to tell them. When I told my boyfriend he told me to get rid of it or he would never have anything to do with me or the baby. Because of my parent's divorce I was now living in a small apartment and my room only had a mattress on the floor so I knew bringing a baby into my world was so selfish. I found an adoption agency by myself, chose a family by myself, went to OBGYN appointments by myself or with the wife of the family I chose to adopt my baby. Since my boyfriend had checked out of the situation he never offered to tell my parents with me and I was too scared to do it I hid the pregnancy from them the entire time while managing a tanning salon & working a second job for a brief period of time. When I was getting ready for work one morning my water broke. My boyfriend was there so he knew but I went into work for a bit and had the woman who was about to become the Mother of my child pick me up and we went to the hospital to have the baby. I told my Dad (who I lived with, my Mom was with her new man somewhere) that I was spending the night with a friend since I was obviously going to be at the hospital overnight and he never found out until years later. Actually I was able to hide my pregnancy the whole time from everyone besides my boyfriend and the adoption agency/family which was very lonely. My boyfriend never even came to the hospital and after I had a little girl whom was handed over to her new parents, the hospital wheeled me into a room where I was all alone. The rooms around me all had balloons and congratulations banners on the doors. After the baby my boyfriend wanted me back so badly but my heart still runs ice cold for him to this day. My daughter however is now 22 and comes to spend weekends with my husband and our son, her brother all of the time and takes family vacations with us. Moral of my story: if you are going to have sex young, use protection! The pain and struggles from those decisions are more than you can imagine.

can people in the comments stop comparing themselves as “teens” to this? this is a serious topic and i’m getting sick of the “i’m not like other girls” trend. not doing drugs, not drinking alcohol doesn’t mean you’re any better of a person than the people that do, it’s an escape for most. stop comparing yourselves to people that do these things because all it does is make people feel bad for their own choices that YOU didn’t make or for who they are. it isn’t your life so stop commenting on others. also, feel free to vent in the replies🖤 i’ll respond to all. i know what it’s like to be struggling a lot mentally... and to be dealing with mental health issues. i want the people that are struggling to know i’m here for you and you aren’t alone.

Justine Stylinson I know. Like men should get punished by their parents if they get a girl pregnant if they are under 16 or really any teenage age. If my son got a girl pregnant I would take away his tv,video games, phone, computer, and really any other devices. On the other hand if my daughter got pregnant i would hug her and say it’s okay. I’m not mad. Tell me what happened and who did this to you. I’ll make you some tea. Men are like the whole entire reasons girls get pregnant. It’s not the ladies’ fault if they get pregnant. Normally it’s on purpose. I don’t get how a man could get a girl pregnant on accident unless they are drunk or they rape the lady. A girl would get pregnant by rape or if the lady got drunk. Or you know, sex. Also if you pregnant go to your mother first or any Eason you really trust and you know has your back and won’t let you down or hurt you in any way.

Never been in the child’s life now he wants to come around!! Nope get to steppin! Im all this child knows I be damn he takes my son! He called me dad from day one!
@bekab56908 жыл бұрын
I think it's so hard for people to understand why people would get an abortion. Like, there's some people who say "if she was raped..." Or "If she was going to die bc of it..." But what people don't understand is that pregnancies are taxing, mentally, physically, and emotionally. Ask any woman who has been pregnant and they'll probably tell you that. Pregnancies aren't easy, at all. They're also extremely expensive. Between cravings, hot/cold flashes, new clothing sizes, and the many hospital bills and bills from pregnancy/care centers, these numbers add up pretty quickly. And there are many women out there who just aren't capable of going through with a pregnancy, whether it's financially, or bodily. And they shouldn't be made to feel less-than because of it. It doesn't make them lazy, nor does it make them a bad person. On the contrary, it shows that they're smart enough to know how much they can handle, and they know that this isn't their time to have a child.
@bekab56908 жыл бұрын
+Ally Greyson Yes! People assume that the person who gets an abortion is just lazy or whatever, but they're looking out for themselves and their wellbeing, which should be respected. Like, even if they were to give the child up for adoption, there's so many things they would have to deal with that they, especially if they're a teenager, may not be able to handle.
@user-xu9tw1gm2f8 жыл бұрын
Pregnancy is hard take it from me I am pregnant right now lol. But since when did something being hard mean it should stop you from doing it. That's just selfish to abort a baby because it will be a hard thing to have. I can understand if you were raped or the baby will be unhealthy or it may kill the mother to give birth, but it being "hard" is not a valid reason. I don't care who you are that's just wrong. I have severe anxiety and depression and I'm still doing it. I'm sucking it up and sacrificing certain things so another person will be happy and healthy down the road. That's bullshit to think it being hard is a worthy excuse.
@MegaIcestar8 жыл бұрын
+L If you can't financially afford it, how can you afford to care for the baby? To bring a child to this word and not be able to have enough money to support him/her? Really?
@bekab56908 жыл бұрын
+L it's hard on anyone. A lot of people aren't equipped to handle both the financial burden of carrying a child, as well as the mental and emotional toll it can have on the pregnant person. It's good that they are understanding their situation and taking note of their health. I congratulate you on your child, but it was your choice to take that burden, your choice to continue to care for the child. However someone chooses to care for themselves, as well as their possible child, should be respected. It's not bullshit to know what you are and aren't capable of handling.
@user-xu9tw1gm2f8 жыл бұрын
They should have been more careful if they didn't want to deal with it lol. Irresponsible decisions lead to tough consequences. Running away from that is not the right choice. The only excuse is if they are severely mentally unstable. No one is that incapable of it otherwise. Financially having a baby isn't that hard regardless. Lots of government assistance out there for women with babies. Not saying it being hard isn't a reason, just saying it isn't a good one.

This was me when I was 17. I was a full time dancer training to be a dance teacher and working a full time job in a care home and studying at college. I had my whole life ahead of me and then I found out I was pregnant with my long term boyfriends baby. We had been dating for over 2 years and we moved intogether after high school. It was just after my 17th birthday I found out I was pregnant in April 2014. Myself and my boyfriend called it off as it just wasn’t working out a month later I found out I was pregnant. I was at work in the staff bathroom. I had to dry my tears and carry on with my work like everything was okay and I did. I got home at 12 o’clock at night and told my gran parents straight away. They shouted for while then they just ignored me. Didn’t hug me , didn’t comfort me. Everytime I tried to speak they ignored me and they couldn’t look at me. I called in sick to work the next day and my grandparents kicked me out. I packed my things I left. I went to stay with my mum who abandoned me when I was 3 for a bit but only lasted a couple of weeks. Until she hit me and beat me up. My mum was a violent person who abused me and my sisters she was also pregnant with me when she was 17 I thought she could help. I called my dad who abandoned my mum when she was pregnant and was put in prison when I got taken off her but he said there was no room for me at his it was too much for him. So I was homeless and pregnant 17 and alone. My boyfriend wanted nothing to do with me or the baby. I tried to end my life I tried to end my pregnancy at first but it didn’t work. I am happy it didn’t work now. After a few weeks I got a place a hostel and I quit my job. I am epileptic and I was having around 12 sezuires a day lasting 30 mins or more at a time. I had to see people slit there risers and drugs and alcoholics in the hostel I seen people fight and break things. Abortion I never believed in but I did consider it at first. But then I had my first scan and I couldn’t do it. So I had my baby a couple of weeks after I had my baby the dad asks for a DNA test. stupid as he new he was the dad. The DNA test comes back his no shocker there. My gran did come back into my life tho before I had my baby and we acted like normal for a while I had to hide my pregnant belly from her till she could accept it. About 2 months till I had my little girl my gran finally talked about me being pregnant and supported me from there. She was the only one I had at the hospital with me. I was in labour for 4 and half days they almost lost me I stopped breathing next thing I no I’m paralysed by an epidural and I’m being told I’ll need a C section. I’m terrified. I don’t get to see my baby for over an hour after she is born. I finally get to see her and hold her and it’s the best feeling in the world. I’ll never be alone again. After she turned 6 months, I asked her dad if he had told his mum as he wasn’t seeing her or me and didn’t want to. He said no he hadn’t. So I told him I’d give him till her first birthday to tell his Mum or I would. After my taughter turned one he told me he still hadn’t told his mum. So that was almost 2 years since I was pregnant and had a baby that he hadn’t told his mum I wasn’t pregnant and I had a baby. So I told his mum. It was the hardest thing at the time that I felt like I ever had to do. Not only did I have to tell my parents I had to tell his mum too that wasn’t fair. She called me a lot of names shouted at me Said I ruined his life then demanded another DNA test to be done. 2 DNA tests later still came back his and I never heard from her again and I got a letter through the post saying he didn’t want to be involved with my baby till he had finsihed university. 3 years later now, he has graduated and he is still not involved and is refusing to be finatually supportive towards his daughter. I’m 21 now never been stronger. My little girl is 3 and my world. Best decision I have ever made having her. I hit a lot of bumpy roads through my pregnancy but I wouldn’t change it I wouldn’t go back. This short film was very good I just wish my parents were as helpful as this family. I self harmed a lot when I found out I was pregnant and throughout high school I was bad for it but I’m a stronger person than I was then and it’s because of my little girl.

I am a 37 year old mother of 4 sons. I saw this video and it brought tears to my eyes. I got pregnant for my first son at 15 years old, growing up in a broken family. 2 weeks after finding out I was pregnant our mother left us. I felt like I was completely on my own with the responsibility of taking care of my brother and trying to help my father cope. So many people told me to get an abortion, even my closest friends. The thought of abortion was never a question in my mind. I thanked God for what I had learned as a child in youth group. I went to school full time and worked full time while pregnant. I can still remember all of the weird stares I would get as I walked through the hallways of my school, but I held my head high and kept going. I delivered my son at 16, took 6 weeks of maternity leave and then went back to school while breastfeeding. It was hard, but I graduated on time and that has been one of my greatest accomplishments in life. I did it for my baby. It gave me the opportunity to speak to other young girls who found themselves in the same situation. Years later, one of those girls saw me shopping and told me that because of what I did she decided to keep her child and thanked me while crying tears of joy. My son is almost 21 now and is still one of the biggest blessings of my life. I am married to his father and we since have had 3 more sons. For anyone out there that may be going through this, I just want to tell you that you can do it no matter what anyone else thinks or says. You are so much stronger than you know! And you are definitely not alone! God sees you and he will never leave your side. I know he never left mine ❤️

no what you're seeing is "ohhh yes keep the baby, be a teen mom, its a great idea. abortion is eviiiiilll"
@izzym91916 жыл бұрын
Silent Whisper because it is... Since when is killing a baby ok?? Because it's convenient for the mother? That's selfish. They saying that killing a baby is against the human rights for women, but taking away that baby's life and stopping that heart beat isn't?? Your taking away that basic human right of the baby to simply live, because of personal convenience. Honestly, when u have sex, no matter how many birth control pills or condoms, you can potentially become pregnant. Why do u think this girl in the video did not have an abortion even though she was at first priority choice? It's because she new that having an abortion was not the option! Even though she was a teenager with a scholarship to a university.
@kassidyd44146 жыл бұрын
Izzy M This is just a question but what’s your opinion on people who were raped and became pregnant or if it was some type of sexual abuse? What would be your stand on abortion on a situation like that?

mac the snack :/ to be fair, both parties are in distress. Your parents were your mentors, your guides through life and to see you make a silly decision when you could've easily avoided it will completely crash and burn your and your parents life. He must've witnessed this young girl throw her life away (in his opinion) and clearly became worried and, a first reaction would naturally be fear or anger :)
@ramywiles7 жыл бұрын
Mrs Irrelevant The thing about parenting is that sometimes you have to quell your gut reactions in favor of taking a more reasonable approach -- or if you can't do that, you admit your gut reactions, explain them, and THEN take the more reasonable approach. People aren't perfect, but when people are parents, it's their job to view everything they say and do through the eyes of their child and modify their behavior accordingly. That's how you build trust. Expressing your gut reactions with abandon? Breaks that trust. rayne hutchinson It's not wrong. Teens have sex, have had sex since the beginning of time, and will always have sex. What's wrong is that we don't adequately equip them to do so safely.

mac the snack :/ right I mean at least in some cases such as my mother and stepmother. My mother was 20 when she found out she was going to have my brother (a week after her birthday) my grandfather being Arabic wanted to fucking kill her while my grandmother knew it was coming and didn’t give a shit (lol). On the other hand my stepmother was 19 and then ended up having two other children, now she has two grandchildren the sad part is she’s a year younger than my mother.

I know a lot will judge, I'm 18 and I just had a baby, but I felt the exact same way when I fell pregnant. I was 5 weeks pregnant when I found out, I had an ultrasound a week later and I saw his heart beating. I couldn't stop it. I didn't care that it was just an embryo, it's still my child and I already felt it was my responsibility to raise him. I'm glad I went through with it. It's very hard, but I don't regret a thing. I love my little boy with all my heart and I will raise him like any other mother. Age doesn't matter, yes it's advised to wait until you're older and much more stable and mature, but honestly it doesn't matter the age. You can be a wonderful mother no matter what age you are. Older women can be horrible and not ready for kids. For some it's not meant to be, for some it's the best thing that's ever happened to them. I don't care what people want to think or say, everyone is entitled to an opinion. But you have to think about how she feels, what's going through her mind and the challenges she's facing. It's terrifying but it's worth it in the end.

I'm grateful for your comment here. Im 18 and have faced the same problem. When I found out that I was already five months pregnant I couldn't even believe myself that I was. I missed my periods and went to the clinic with my mom for my checkup and there we found out that I was pregnant. I was really scared Nd had lots going on in my mind...but my parents and my aunts supported me throughout my pregnancy... I never thought that my dad will support me, but by gods grace everything went on well.. To all the people facing this problems I just wanna share you all that no matter what do not give up your dreams, we all learn from mistakes..and there is always a second chance.And to be very honest my pregnancy was the best thing that ever happened to me... Stay strong 💪.. Everything happens for a purpose.. Believe in yourself and strive for the 👍💯

I just found out I was pregnant two days ago, and I am 21. My bf is 23. I've always had problems with his family, and I'm scared to tell them. My mom is coming down to our apartment to see us for thanksgiving and we are going to surprise her then. Then, I will plan on telling everyone else. I'm scared, but I'm also so happy. Everything recently has fallen right into place, I feel like this was meant to happen. I don't wanna regret anything or anything like that bc I can't turn the clock back now. I think the thing I fear the most is that he could potentially leave me bc we are not married yet. I'm also afraid of what MY dad will say.
