Been trapping 50 years never once have I went thru the ice on accident… if ya don’t know don’t go ! I mark bank dens before ice up so I can kick or chop it open . Now I have how ever slid down the bank … and the best cure for that is dig out steps down too the edge . And those dug out steps are great attractions when spring trapping kicks in and the water is up a scent mound in a step that’s above the water line ! I know I’ll get 100 pms saying that it’s pretty easy making a scent mound set but trapping is best when it’s convenient. Like drowning poles I only use one if I don’t want my catch to be seen now I saved what 10 mins and didn’t have to carry in the stuff to make a drowning set . It’s about time too me sooner I’m done sooner I can be in my shed sooner I get in the house .

Time is everything for most of us ,a 10 ' Cable staked keeps time under control , they never get far but I have had a few leg caught, they were alive . Nuff said.thanks for the videos, real perspective for those non trappers that think it's all sunshine and daisies.
