Enjoy your trapping videos. Always informative! A couple of questions: What is the price of beaver pelts this year? What happens to the remains once the beaver is skinned. I imagine you use the castor glands or sell them. Have a great day.

hey man awesome videos.....I'm not a hunter 😎. would you mind going over what you use for your base layer system? what you prefer, what weight and such.
@chrisholmes602911 ай бұрын
I would love to hear this also!
@mikewhitman74510 ай бұрын
Depends on what your doing. If your active go light, if your sitting go heavy. Don't use cotton, wool or synthetic are king. Don't let yourself sweat if your in the real cold and far from heat. Layers are the best so you can adjust as you go. Don't wear tight boots, they will cut off the circulation and freeze your feet. More heat is lost from your head than anywhere else, get a good hat.

You just said,hope for a big old beaver. I know there is 1 there,whether you catch it or not. A educated adult for sure, that beast heard you & snapped that trap on purpose to put distance between you & it quickly. That many small beaver are just more hints or clues ,but I know there is a big smart 1 that was right next to you.

Always thought or was afraid that the H stands didnt have enough stability or strength at their base and seemed to have too many fired traps
@nathanpeters764111 ай бұрын
Where would you recommend I buy some H stands?
@Desire4firez11 ай бұрын
How do you keep up with all those beavers? You skin them, process the furs and store all that meat??
@330Maniac11 ай бұрын
I sell the majority of them unskinned
@jamestboehm645011 ай бұрын
You think that beav produced 5 kits? I've seen 3 but not sure I've seen more. But maybe your northern beavs are different.
@330Maniac11 ай бұрын
The most ive ever caught from one lodge was 11 kits and then the 2 adults. ive skinned a spring female beaver that had 13 kits in it.
@jamestboehm645011 ай бұрын
@@330Maniac dang, that's some serious reproducing. Guess they have some different genes in Ohio or I've just missed the super fertile females. Or maybe it's just climate change. JK.

Hey Scott, a "members only" video???? After 4 yrs I'm out. See ya buddy. Sub dropped.
@330Maniac11 ай бұрын
No not a members only video. They upload like normal videos but I upload most videos a week or two ahead of the day they actually are visible. So you wouldn't see them until they are public anyway like normal. People that are members just get to view them earlier.
@marktheo156311 ай бұрын
Frustrating when they snap traps,but right infront of you? "Salt the wound!" It might be educated, if so it could be very large. I've seen them snap traps just like a smart ass red fox will. Conibears or foot hold. They snap them with sticks,stones,mug throw on them,tail slaps you name it.
