@@TrappingIncTV Hi, Rich & Sandy,Barry at you again, thank you both for returning me a message thats great,thank you,now going to the walleye fishing ,i must tell you that i am a commercial fisherman on lake Manitoba,and this year due to the warm weather it has not been good at all ,we can not get out to where we normally fish because there is no ice ,or if there is any it is not safe enough to travel on also when the fish should have been in tight to shore in the fall,and they were ,but there was no ice, and the law states that a commercial fisherman can not harvest any fish on lake Manitoba if there is no ice ,because we are only licence to fish in winter,so this year has been a wash,our season lasts from Nov 1st to March 31st and we are all ready the mid Feb, and even with the latest cold snap that we had ,there is still open water,our only hope now is that spring will come early and bring the fish in towards shore and hope that we have a good month of march, but we can not change mother nature ,but for the most part there is always next year,say i would like to share with you folks a thought for the day,i have turned to this for a lot of years now,and it helps get me through all the times,and there is always something thats good that comes out of it,so here is the thought for the day, this is the beginning of a new day, God has given me this day to use as i will i can waste it or use it for good what i do today is important, because i am exchanging a day of my life for it when tomorrow comes this day will be gone for ever leaving in its place something i have traded it for i want it to be gain, not loss; good, not evil, success, not failure; in order that i shall not regret the price i paid for it in hard times and in good times this thought for the day has seen me through many of hard ships and i am great full for every thing ,and i try to look at the good all the time ,i am 63 years of age and i know there will be some good that comes out of a bad season,may be not in the way that i expect it, but in other ways, so i can not complain to much,even if i don,t get any fish to speak about this season, i can always get some in the spring ,but only on a anglers permit and hope fully that turns out ,because when i pick up the Argo in Edmonton later this spring ,if it is ok with you folks i will bring fresh walleye to Alberta and give you a good feed of lake Manitoba walleye,only if thats is ok with you folks,and i would like to have the chance to meet you both in person,and again thankyou both for all your videos, keep up the good work, stay safe,may God be with you Barry

I pack an old lever action 22 into the devoured wolf site in this video. I can't remember ever packing one of the 12 Ga O/U shotguns on the line.

if they eat there own ( mange wolf ) does that infect the ones eating it ?
@TrappingIncTV5 жыл бұрын
It certainly can. Wolves are a pack animal and it is very probate the pack is already infected by this animal living in the pack.

Great episode guys! Had very similar results here in N Ont this year. Lots of mangey wolves, not young of the year though. Mostly adults. Hopefully better fur next year.

When they are mangy like that they don't care, they are just hungry...

@Makete1005 жыл бұрын
Shouldn't you burn the mangy animals so that they don't infect the others? I don't know, just wondering.
@TrappingIncTV5 жыл бұрын
A couple of things on this. One, the fuel needed for the job is not cheap nor was any on hand. Two, wolves are pack animals and if one has it the pack has it. I know what you are saying about trying to stop the disease and i did haul the carcass a long ways from the bait in thoughts of burning later it but the pack tracked it down and ate it. Crazy!

It sucks to not be able to cash a check but it is certainly easier for the wolf

You do the animals with mange a favor by killing them quickly because they would slowly and painfully die otherwise so don’t feel too bad about it. I’ve had mange in my coyotes the last couple of years and have only been able to salvage a small amount of pelts.
@TrappingIncTV5 жыл бұрын
Yes, I know that. It just seems to be such a waste but Mother Nature isn't a blue haired old granny baking cookies! LOL

My dear friend, as a wife of a trapper, I have learned that just because the animal may have mange,and the pelt has no value, the skull does, with a wolf, that skull is worth 30 - 50 dollars. So don't just drag the animal off for the birds make use of what you can.
@TrappingIncTV4 жыл бұрын
We rescued the skulls on these 3 once the birds and critters were done with them.
