Down here in michigan fresh rabbit works for bobcats But it doesnt hold very long. Your bait is built frost proof and has some call to it. Thats the nice thing about making your own lures, you have buckets instead of 1 once bottles.

Those new snares look awesome, Rich! The animal won't be able to see the snare in the dark with that coloration, what a great idea! Too bad about the mangey coyotes, just proves what you said about management, if we don't Mother Nature will, and her way is so wasteful, all is a lost cause, where you get beautiful furs if done well by a trapper!
@TrappingIncTV8 күн бұрын
agreed
@mikedumas29019 күн бұрын
My god that’s a fantastic setup couple questions could you do a small demo rich say like comparing the visibility of a regular snare next to the dark ones and do they make them for wolves?? By the look of the setup they don’t fight hardly at all!!
@TrappingIncTV8 күн бұрын
They do make them for wolves

N area when I just started catching coyotes 50-70% of them are not good. In area where I trapped for few years it is from 10 to 25 % bad. Wolves 70 % has shoulder mites or mange in my are in Manitoba(open area). Do trapping for 6 seasons(only 8 years in Canada).
@RichFreireich10 күн бұрын
Do they make a similar set up for wolves?
@MichaelBrown-Tator9 күн бұрын
Yes they make the same similar setup for wolves. The spring is bigger for wolves

We Trappers in Southern Ontario legally have to use Relaxed Cable Restraints! No doing the job quickly and humanely! Keep the coyotes alive and running in circles for a day !! Not humane in my books Rich !

Come on Rich, we want to see Sandi catch another 'kitty'!!! That episode was so cute, and she is such a spirit, we want to see more of her on the line!! I wish my wife had been interested in what I was doing those many years ago when I was trapping to feed my family. I was fortunate enough to be trapping before and after the big fur boom in the 1970s, actually started trapping around 1962, for pocket money for a junior high student, and continued for many years after my stint in VN. What a life!!

Sandi has some success on her lake line over the years. Stay tuned.

Yep, you over think the content of your videos, Rich, a lot of us are too old to trap now or not able to physically, but we love to see the ordinary day on the line. Those days that aren't interesting, and I agree there are some, just don't upload the video, but the 'day on the line' is a great way to show your expertise, and your 'luck', which does enter in to trapping!! Thanks! By the way, I know you don't have to be a scholar, to trap, but that last video misspelled 'raccoons', and that drives me nuts!! Sandi, you are the 'cats meow', what a lady, I really admire your spunk, and that 'kitty' was really great!!
@TrappingIncTV28 күн бұрын
I appreciate that, thank you for the kind words. PS racoon and raccoon are both correct spellings.
