Nice haul and great explanation for those of us who don't trap but, support you fur trappers 100%. It's cool when you're hanging out with 330 Maniac and together telling us what and why you do what you do. Good luck tomorrow and beyond.

Great one! You are a teacher, and it is much appreciated! I as someone who hasn't trapped before didn't know what you meant by dog proof. Looks like a similar style to what I have bought for the live trap smart Coons I have to put out sometimes. Trapping for the fur is just awesome to me and I love your site, that knowledge needs to be retained and I thank you for teaching it to others! I have gun hunt for most of my life but never knew your skill set and most of it crosses over in a lot of ways. I look have looked forward to your content every since I found your KZbin site!

Another great video Stu with some excellent points about keeping the swivels freed up and the DP's from freezing in the ground. Awesome job. We've got 2' of snow on the ground and below freezing temps here so they're not moving around all that much

I'm not sure if anyone reads this but I'm trapping beaver for someone and bought the traps and made my sets similar to Stu and I have had success. Listen to this guy's advice. He is one of the few out there that gives solid information. I preaditor trap mostly and my area is a little different but there's still something I can think about and try.

Dry cat food, black licorice cut into 1/4" chunks, cherry cool aid powder. Little juice from canned salmon enough to make the cool aid stick to everything.

If you want an easy anchor for coon trapping try the eye lags for acoustical ceilings. They screw in but they’re pretty long and they have deep threads and hold really well. I’ve held some big beavers in em as well. You can get a bit for your impact and run em in with that and if you have hands like mine eat up with arthritis it’s easier than swinging the hammer all the time.

I don't trap until after deer season in southern Michigan. My first year trapping my dog proofs froze in the ground and all my coons kept getting away. I wish I'd have known what you said back then. I don't catch many coon where I am in January. It normally picks up big in Feb and March.

Hey bro, Is it too late in the year to start trapping? Got land in west TN lots of coons and yotes. I'm an avid turkey hunter and noticed that my population is down. Checking my trail cams and see dozens of coons so I assume that it's possible for them to be responsible for population decline in my turkeys ... where do you suggest buying traps. Tia

@bryantblake18773 жыл бұрын
Stu, 92 for 1 against. But these kind of guys can bring KZbin down on you. Personally, I think you do a good job of keeping taking the critters on the less graphic side of your work. Always wonder where all the complainers think their burgers, steak, pork and bacon come from. I visited many chicken, meat and hide processors before retiring and your videos are Disney movies compared to the real world. Not a trapper but find the logic and method to your “madness” kind of fascinating. Watch all your vids but am a bigger fan of your barge dodging and lake fishing videos.

@mikewhitman745 Жыл бұрын
@jaydonpowell7468 I know this is old and all but seriously your asking the internet to tell you the laws and regulations where you live? You do realize of you follow the wrong advice that can result in fines, possible charges against you and loss of licensing right? Just call the game wardens and ask them. What is the deal with people these days? Too lazy to find out for yourself how to get a license but your going to get up early every morning and run a trap line? That doesn't make sense.
