They are 5/8" fiberglass rods. Usually used for electric cattle fencing.

We have two series on TV in Canada. Outdoor Quest TV and Trapping Inc. We did air Outdoor Quest in the US for 6 years.

I assume the dry acts as a tumbler. Is that an electric or gas model and does anything special need to be done so as not to screw up the motor?

Yes, duct tape across the drum vents at the back stops the sawdust from getting out.
