It is cool to see the different names used. I've heard this and several other styles all called pelters.

These are power rams and they use the power ram snare. EP 1 of season 6 has a great power ram tip section.

Great point about the cost of predator control without trappers. The same can be said about raccoons digging through garbage cans, muskrats digging out ditch banks, beaver plugging up culverts and creeks flooding people's homes........the list go's on.

I'm also watching this on Amazon Prime. Love the show. I was wondering, do you ever use leg hold traps ?
@TrappingIncTV6 жыл бұрын
Yes we do for coyote wolf and Lynx mostly. But we have pretty rigid check laws of 24 and 48 hours and that does limit how much we can use them.
@buglechaser6 жыл бұрын
Love the show and channel. Can you do more videos on trapping wolves please? I’m striking out and can only find the one episode you did. I live in Idaho and the wolves are extremely over populated here
@TrappingIncTV6 жыл бұрын
We try every year. We catch wolves every year, unfortunately the last couple years they have all been mangy and I haven't made a show out of them.

ive noticed lots of plp being very rough with the dead animals like throwing them on the ground or in back of trucks or sleigh or dragging them..trapper Bob would lose his s@#% if i did that haha he always says you rip out the guard hair we never do any of that and if we are putting in truck we lay it gently and on cardboard as not rub it and WE WOULD NEVER DRAG ANYTHING EVER UNLESS IN PLASTIC that's just what he does anyway

Do the wolves/yotes ever run your lines & steal your catches! I trapped Alaska for 25 years & THAT was a constant problem. Then the Sierra Club declared war on trappers & they would sneak in, steal traps, burn down our line cabins, leave ugly notes on our martin poles, ect. Now we can just call/hunt because its the only way to keep your furs. I started leaving "surprise" #4 jump traps under the Martin poles & that caught a few wolf/yotes but they figured that trick out & would circle the anchor trees & dig out the chains & yank out the surprise traps & then eat the martin anyway. Seemed the older/wiser ones were teaching their younger ones to dig out/disable ground sets.

Sometimes I get robbed by wolverine, wolves and coyotes. I lost a lynx last year and this year to coyotes. I've lost one lynx to wolves but they usually stay away from steel. However they often eat a caught pack mate. Wolverine have robbed 2 or 3 marten over the years not bad. Lynx eating other lynx is my biggest problem. I had 8 cats ate by other cats last year alone. I have had 2 otter and 2 lynx stolen by people over the years but other than that we are not in a popular area and get left alone.

Trapping Inc TV Series, I had 1 yote hit the same martin pole over & over. Got over a dozen in 1 winter. NO TRACKS. Told my mentor & he said he had the same problem & to check behind the tree. Found where it was sneaking up behind the set & walking up the pole. Pulling the martin up by its chain, eating it & going back down the pole & leaping way out & following his own same tracks away..SMART SOB! I hung a snare over the top of the pole & had that SOB the next day. Quit losing my martin on that set. Its a shame the bunny huggers have no idea of animal intelligence or that wolves DO turn on their own once caught or wounded or old/weak. And that most critters are cannibals. The morons must think the wildlife has retirement homes they go to. Ron White is right. "YOU CANT FIX STUPID!!" Damned Sierra Club should be labeled for what they really are. A TERRORIST organization. Citiout bastards who dont have a clue & dont want one. Think nothing about murdering babys yet bitch about trappers/hunters.
