With all that green, it could be such a lovely place to live in. But as usual, it't the behaviour of the people that make it shyte.

SWINDON IS LIKE THE 1970S not much seems to have moved on, flats with communal entrances and hallways and shared gardens are abysmal and are the quickest way to divide neighbours, an Englishman's home is HIS castle, not a shared toilet !

I lived with my sister in a fairly large council estate, many moons ago. I lived there for around 4 years. It was so depresssing: from the views of scruffy, badly looked after flats and houses to the usual low-class scum. Of course, many people on the estate were honest, decent folk who couldn't afford to live elsewhere; their only crime being not having too many brain cells. But the overwhelming problem was that people didn't seem to mind living in a waste dump: litter all over the place; beds, sofas, baths, chairs, sinks, and all manner of crap left out to rot. I could not wait to get out of there. Honestly, it doesn't require much money to keep a place clean and tidy - but it does require a certain amount of time and effort, which, as far as I could see, nobody had. I truly do not have any sympathy for them. If people are happy living in places like that, then why should I?

Yeah, it's sad, so many decent neighbourhoods go downhill just because a few bad apples are too lazy or cheap to deal with their rubbish. It quickly escalates, too, once people start degrading the enighbourhood it makes others feel like, 'why should I bother'.

It comes down to responsibility, who is going to clear up other people's mess, especially in a run down area, that would take a Special kind of person... Also big items need transportation, and can cost money that people haven't got to waste... The local Council should make it easy and affordable/free for people to dispose of items, or they simply will just dump it outside, problem solved for them for free... Someone will sort it eventually, then everyone enevitably does the same.. Experiments were done and prove that in a place with No Litter, people are far less likely to drop any🚮 Although i see it seems to have got worse along with the decrease in basic Values, Manners and Morals... Glad you are in a better place now, i know what you mean 😁😂👍🏻

I’ve lived in Pinehurst my whole life and I can honestly say, yes it can be bad but honestly what area in swindon doesn’t have its bad spots it’s not that bad, some people can be assholes but who can’t be, I won’t deny there are issues with the estate but this is mostly down to the council not bothering with it so the residents probably think why should we bother if the council don’t give a monkeys about us, or our living conditions, my house has mould in it, and I live with my 85 year old grandmother who has lung and heart issues, we’ve asked the council numerous times to come and fix the problem but they just won’t, they say they will send someone at some point but that some point never comes, and my grandmother won’t move now, this is her home, she’s lived here for 53 years, my grandad died in the house, we should demand better from our council, local government and Uk government in general!!

Ironically, my view is that these kinds of social housing developments - close packed with mandatory, uninspiring architectural design - are, by definition, anti- social. You’ll find, for the most part, I am not wrong. Having dragged ourselves out of the social housing trap by sheer hard work decades ago, we’ve experienced at first hand the anti-social influences rampant in too many social housing developments.

It isn't a coincidence that low income areas have a high proportion of bookies, alcohol shops and pawnbrokers. Designed by the monied who also tell you to blame immigration and not themselves for such deliberate misery.

those migrants aren't exactly free of crime and nett tax payers either. When a country has enough misfits among it's own people, no need to import even more from abroad.

I live in Swindon, not to far from Pinehurst. The whole town is getting worse, everywhere is getting shabby and neglected. Walk through the town centre the number of people looking scruffy full of tattoos it's a eye opener. The town is full immigrants and asylum seekers. The hospital is only 20 years old and too small.
