I am a 69-year-old female, who is a single mother of four children most of my life, and I supported myself and my children by picking trash down in Florida! You never knew what you were going to find! And I have found things that were amazing!

I'm over in Citrus County, 70 miles north of Tampa. I used to head out every trash day at 4:30am and find all kinds of stuff and had fun doing it. Arthritis in my knees got so bad that I had to stop. There is a lot of stuff I find for free or for cheap from craigslist and marketplace that I resell on ebay. There is almost always a way to get by if you get up in the morning and try.

Tucker, I too have known people that have dissed me and thought that they were better than me, because I was shy, poor and didn’t have pretty clothes. When I was young it use to hurt my feelings. Did my own picking this am. Got a huge selection of the most unique Halloween batter operated decorations! All neatly packed. Took over 4 hours to open, shoot pics and put away. Easily $300 plus much more other items. Think I did better than you today, Turner. Loved the sweet joy on Bean’s face wen offered her drink!! Love you guys! At my 10th year class reunion I walked over to say hello to my neighbor I was friends with all through school and she snubbed me. I just said nice to see you and walked away. What gets me she was always spoiled got whatever she wanted....her Mom worked at a bank and was caught embezzling thousands of dollars and went to prison. If anyone had the right to snub it was me but I'm not that kind of person. You're a good man Tucker never ever let anyone put you down or take that good heart from you ❤

When I was a little girl, my grandfather would take me trash, picking in the city. He refurbished furniture, and I still have a couple of beautiful wooden stools that he re-stained. I cherish them. Now as an adult, and being near a shore town, I also go “curb shopping” for furniture. I’ve rehabbed some amazing pieces. Saves it from the landfill and gives it a new home. Love it. ❤ PS, so glad you are not bothered by the ignorance of that woman who looked down on you. I’m sure she has a miserable life and just takes it out on other people to make herself feel better. You have a good heart. ❤

It's unreal what people in these ritzy towns throw out! Why would somebody discard a hi def TV that still works? That is pure madness! Get yourself a universal remote, and you're good to go! And yes, it's unfortunate how arrogant some people can be and how they look down their noses at you, but such is life. There are rotten apples in every bunch, so throw away the rotten ones and think nothing of them ever again. Keep doing what you do, and don't let the petty people of the world drag you down!

Got an old safe from an abandoned house I've been cleaning out this week. Opened it, and inside was 3 old money bags, one was loaded with coins, bur the other 2 were empty. Still have to clean out the attic but it's so hot here in Fla. All sorts of boxes, up there.
